before I went to sleep last night, I set the A/C to 76 and put it on “fan only”. This morning, this room is cool and comfy, and according to the thermostat on the remote 74 degrees. The rest of the house is still a sauna, but at least it’s less than 80 until the sun hits the southwest facing side of the house.

Up. Started this little shawl last night as a lark and decided it was really fun to knit so I kept going. I was playing with some leftover yarn, but it turns out that I had enough of it tucked away to make the whole shawl. Yay!
Off to caffeinate and hopefully get stuff done that I didn’t get done yesterday… I’m feeling a bit more human. Also yay!

I’m all purtified for deheathenization. After we are all deheathenized we’re goin’ to lunch at Steak ‘n Shake and the I suppose I shall have to brave :eek:Wally*World:eek: or somesuch place to buy AA batteries as I am all out of ‘em. The tv remote in the livin’ room died and I took the batteries out of the tv remote in the study to put in the livin’ room remote because somebody was gonna just die if he could not watch IFC.

Back from erranding. I was just going to get groceries, but WalMart had some rather nice towels that weren’t made in China, so I got some. As long as they don’t fall apart in the washer when I run them thru, they should be OK, right? I’d gotten some from Target for the guest bath, and those stoopit things snag and pull - they weren’t cheap and I’m not happy at all. Yet another reason to avoid Target.
I’ve loaded the dishwasher and run a rinse cycle. First load of soggy swim towels are in the washer right now, to be followed by a load of the new ones… to be followed by the rest of the dirties. I got assorted groceries and they’re all put away, so yay for that. I got a chickie to rotisse for supper, with Amish corn and 'maters from my porch and maybe some broccoli. Or we’ll have the broccoli tomorrow. I intend to make up a batch of sketty sauce for the freezer, and I need to clean out my car. Probably should run the vacuum, too. Busy busy.
I think poor Bernie is just about blind. When I called her this morning to go outside, she nosed up against the basement door and stood there. Then she didn’t seem to see the steps into the garage, and once in the garage, she got between the work bench and the table saw and just stood there. Poor old girl. I really do wish she’d just go to sleep and not wake up. She’s not suffering yet, but her quality of life can’t be all that great. Still, I won’t put her down unless she’s obviously bad off. She can probably learn to live with blind.
I hear a pug yowling in the basement - better go check on him. Daughter is gone and I refuse to keep him in his crate. But I can’t bring him upstairs because he torments Bernie, and she doesn’t need that. Stoopit dog… Off to deal with him and probably swap out a load of laundry.

I second the motion. First, I must shower because I just finished mowing the yahd, and I smell worse than a goat. I have one for a neighbor, so I know of what I speak and smell.
Second load on the clotheslines, third about to go out. Then the vacuum cleaner comes out.

So after deheathenization, we went and got a burger. I decided not to brave :eek:Wally*World:eek: so I stopped at Fred’s and got some batteries. I have changed into some shorts which I will wear when I head back yet again to the church house for the don’t be bad to the chilluns workshop I must attend.

It are hot out there - first load of towels is dry and folded, second and third are drying. Jeans will go out next, but the rest of the stuff will go in the dryer because it’ll be kinda late, plus they won’t need to be ironed if they go in the dryer. Which reminds me - I need to bring down some hangers.
Car is cleaned out. Some vacuuming has ensued. I should probably tidy the kitchen counters and take the goodwill stuff out to the car. Eventually…
You’ve got me so exhausted that I must immediately seek out a pool and sloth in it.
**FCD **is home from sailing, the rest are still at the marina at the pool. I’ve got a load in the washer, and I’ll do one more and that’ll be it. For today.
In another hour or so, I’ll rotiss the chicken. Sketty sauce will be made tomorrow - I just don’t feel like messing with it today.
I don’t seem to have the hang of this weekend thing…
And never forget that there are people in China going to bed sober.
Had to Supply and lead worship early today which was not the best considering I got to bed at like 3am -------- I write it off to Him teaching me a lesson! 
Took another nap and have been knitting some as well. Need to do some laundry and to put some clothes away, but I’m not sure that that’s gonna happen today. Still quite sleepy.

Hey, Rosie! I saw today’s Shirt Woot and thought of you!
MOOOOOOM said workshop is required of anyone in a church leadership position, anyone who works with chilluns in the church, all paid personnel and anybody who has a key to the churchhouse. I qualify under the leadership thing bein’ as I am on the Vestry. Gotta admit the workshop was kind of interestin’. I didn’t fall asleep or yawn even! I was worried it was gonna go long cause a couple of attendees are well known for [del]havin diarrhea of the mouth[/del] talkin’ and asking dumbass questions but surprisingly they did not. I’m guessin’ somebody slipped some Immodium AD [sup]TM[/sup] in their tea.
OK…after restarting my modem and router about 100 times (ok, maybe it was only 10), I once again have an internet connection.
We had a power outage and I once again had to go through the interminable restarting of the various connectivity devices.
The last set of messages tell me there might be some default IP address confusion.
So I guess I’ll need to figure that out sometime soon.
But I’m reconnected now. Yay!
And there’s another line of thunderstorms moving through here… so I should probably shut things down.
