I want your life of leisure
Cool !!!
Thismade me think of someone here…
Hot, but feeling better. Made myself one huevo ranchero this morning and also had some fresh cherries. Also went to the farmer’s market and bought corn, squash, and a tomoato. Already zapped one of the ears of corn; it was really sweet. Other ear is going into a yummy casserole with the squash and the tomato. Yum.
Now I’m feeling like a nap, for some reason.
Guess I should give in in aid of ditching the cold.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
this one is my fave of those, gt
It’s salsa making day. I plan on 18 pint sized jars when the smoke clears…
Hot Hot HOT!!! We went out on the boat, but there was no wind to speak of and too much sun. So we returned to the marina, hopped in the pool for a while, then had lunch and came home. **FCD **went back to the boat to fix a belt that was chafing. I think he’s insane, but what can ya do??
I got sunburnt, and I’s tahred. I need to get my nephew off the other computer (I’m using FCD’s laptop) so I can finish the MMP. I’m on my sweetie’s laptop, but I don’t like using it. Rotten kid.
Get him off the 'puter now MOOOOOOM! There’s important stuff to be done!
We’s in from the pool. It’s now rainin’. It waited until later afternoon so that’s good. Actually, I had already left the pool and showered cause I had had enough sun. Many adult slushies were had.
I am all showered and clean. Pork loins are restin’ on the kitchen counter to come up to room temperature before grillin’. OYKW has instructions on how to grill as I shall be supervisin’ the cookin’ of the Friggin’ Good N.O.T. and the bread. Meanin’ I shall make sure the N.O.T. get cooked and the garlic bread is toasted to perfection as always. What? It ain’t braggin’ if’n it’s fact!
Oh and, ogbligatroy dkernun psot!
Well, there will be wine with dindin. Plus dessert.
Laterz!
I’ve been lounging, knitting, surfing around a bit, and watching stuff on hulu. Have any of you seen Kingdom? (British series starring Stephen Fry.) it’s very good.
Someone on twitter shared this. Funny kitties. Yay!
Back to lounging.
GT
I haven’t seen it but I just thought of a great crossover plot - Fry’s character embarks on a whirlwind tour of the US and while in South Central New Jersey, contracts a mysterious disease and is rushed to Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital . . .
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! that is one patient kitteh!
Yay - got my computer back! Now I can read my funnies and work on the MMP. And try to get some more pics uploaded…
The room is rocking - always happens after I spend time out on the boat - very weird sensation. Now I need ice cream, because it’s always time for ice cream.
You got apple pie?
Or a canteloupe?
GT, we make those, too. That’s actually why I bought my basil plant so that I could display them properly.
I just cut up an Amish Canteloupe - fruit of the gods!!!
No apple pie, tho. But some peach cobbler would taste yum about now. Wish I had some.
I just finished writing up the MMP - I’ll check all the links tomorrow so it’ll be good to go. Meanwhile, I’s tahred and in need of a shower and a bunch of aloe vera on my sunburn.
That’s all I’ve got. My brain is fried…
Canteloupe. I just baked an apple pie and there’s ice cream to go with it! So just take that ladder away until tomorrow!
Good friends. Good food. Good adult Slurpees. Fun day!
We got two bouts of rain which was very much needed. Yay!
And I’ll join in with the Yays for AC!!! I was dismayed to come home yesterday at 6:00 pm and realize my AC was not working. OMG! On a 98° day! But thankfully my AC guy lives across the street, and since he installed the whole system less than two years ago, he is at my beck and call. So by 8:30 pm tha junky Chinese capacitor was replaced with a USA capacitor. Go USA! It only cost us two beers. He’s a good neighbor, and friend. I hugged him!
My other neighbor brought me a ton of basil tonight. He had some dried in a baggie, that looked awfully suspicious! As well as a big plant of fresh.
For dessert I melted some chocolate chips, and mixed some coconut and pecans in with it. Coconut pecan clusters. Mmm!
Gettng sleepy - see y’all tomorrrow.
We fell victim to advertising and went to ihop for the Despicable Me tie in food. Damn, those CiniMinions were good! They were like beigniets (or what I think beigniets are like) but with an icing and cinnamon sugar. The rest of the meal was okay and our waitress talked too much but those Cini things were da bomb.
My cat spilled half a glass of my wine tonight, at least the nice wineglass didn’t break. But I hate wasting booze.
that’s alcohol abuse, you know …
I had a lovely day out with the girlies at the spa yesterday, we spent our time relaxing in the saunas, steam rooms, pedi-jets and the coffee bar. As we’d booked a specific package, we all got a free treatment - last time I went it was an aqua massage but as the machine was being fixed, this time we got a 15-minute session on the dry flotation bed. A bit of a strange experience but I will give anything a go if the 15mins is as restful as the equivalent of 3hrs sleep.
In the afternoon, three of us had one of the mud chamber rituals which was good fun. Four different sorts of mud to apply to different parts of your body, then you sit around in a steam bath so the mud can do it’s detoxifying magic, then each seat in the chamber has it’s own tropical shower to wash the mud off…and the bonus is that you get to wear funky disposable undies!
After all that excitement, we went next door to The old Irish Harp pub for dinner. I had a very yummy lamb and pomegranate dish, followed by ice cream. The dessert menu was all very tempting but I just fancied ice cream so that’s what I had.
Sadly the lovely chilled out feeling didn’t last much beyond getting home! Here is a question for you - let’s assume you wash your bedding on Friday evening and hand it on the clotheshorse in the bathroom to dry. You know that it won’t be dry until Sunday and you will need to turn it over and re-hang it on Saturday. Someone else does a load of laundry on Saturday and wants to hang it up also. Does the someone else a) use the spare clotheshorse and either move yours to the spare room or set theirs up in the spare room, or do they b) take your still-damp bedding off the bathroom clotheshorse, screw it up in a ball and chuck it in the corner of the room?
No wonder I have Teh Gurrrr.
Did I mention I got sunburned yesterday? My neck and shoulders and the top of my back and chest are in pain and very red. I’ll be peeling in a day or two. I knew I should have used the stoopit sunblock…
My electric bill came yesterday - $257 - an all-time high. Mainly because *someone *insists on setting the air at 74 for the night. It’s supposed to be at 78 so it doesn’t keep turning on. We will have to discuss this. With our new windows, our cooling costs shouldn’t be that high.
Today is laundry and grocery and tidying day. **FCD **is taking daughter and some friends out on the boat - 12 people!! I think he’s overloading it, but he won’t listen to me. I wonder if heat makes him more pigheaded?? I hope some of them cancel since it’ll be so hot out.
Maybe I should just go back to be - I hate starting the day with a full-on crabfest.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’! Go Me!
BooFae I hope someone was given the pointy stick o’ doom for that.
MOOOOOOM I keep the thermostat on 78 and ceiling fans runnin’. Keeps da cave nice and cool. Woe betide anyone who felt the need to touch the thermostat. I don’t worry about OYKW doin’ that. He agrees with me that at times it even feels a little too cool. Like right now. I’m feelin’ a little chill in the study as I post but the a/c ain’t even runnin’ right now. That’s .
Coyote do we need to call the SPCA*?
