**FCD **had a hankerin’ for a steak and baked N.O.T., so we went to the Leonardtown Grill. I got a grilled tuna salad. Food was good, service SUCKED!!! As soon as she brought our drinks, we asked for more ice and more lemons. And waited. His salad came and he asked for more dressing (they brought a teensy little cup.) and we waited. And waited. And grabbed another passing server who brought us ice and lemon and dressing in about 30 seconds. A few minutes later, our server came by with more ice and lemons and dressing…
The people next to us, who were seated after us, were eating their food while our server was telling us “I think your food will be made after the party of 15 over there…” I pointed out the folks next to us, and amazingly, she found our food was ready. I asked if we got bread with the meal. She said “Not with a salad.” But **FCD **was having an entree, so she brought us 2 squares of cornbread anyway. Yanno, a good server would have just brought the bread, especially after disappearing for so long - just to appease us.
The other server checked with us partway thru our meal. Our server showed up when we were done. Good thing we didn’t want anything else. She was quick with the check, tho. For the first time in longer than I can recall, I tipped less than 10% - she got $3 on a $33 tab. Usually I go 20%+ because I only drink water and that’s always free - I feel like the server makes the effort for water as much as for tea, so I cover it. Not today.
I was so glad to get out of there. They’ll get one more chance before we write them off our list…
Meanwhile, we just finished changing aquarium water. It’s thundering, but no rain. I’s tahred. We’re going sailing tomorrow - with luck we’ll have some air.
Almost time for bed. Extremely lousy customer service experience today at Verizon. The guy was a total unfeeling jackass and I ended up leaving in tears.
The rest of the night was better, though, and TVMan and I will be on the loose again tomorrow!
Do not fear a shortage of ice cream. Ice cream is available. Good 'niller ice cream which is important for all things pie and cobbler. Surely y’all did not think it would not be present! :dubious:
Last night I made a sallit and chopped up onions and peppers to make friggin’ good N.O.T.. I shall also grill a pork tenderloin. A couple of friends are comin’ over for hang out time at the pool followed by dindin. Apparently frozen fuzzy navels are required today. Fine by me as they’re bringin’ the dark rum which is, imo, the only rum for a fuzzy navel. Mayhaps a few fuzzy navels shall be unfrozen as I like 'em that way.
Good morning my lovelies. First cup of wake the hell is nearly complete.
So far, my escape proofing has worked. Brandi was definitely stumped, she is now, however, studying the gate area. Fortunately, we’ve got it fixed so she can’t push out the bottom of the gate anymore.
I feel somewhat better about leaving the dogs out in the backyard to play, but I still check on them frequently.
My daughter came over yesterday and spent the day with us. It was nice seeing her again. She hung out, played some PC games with the hubby, ate dinner with us, and then watched The Lovely Bones with us.
We’re supposed to go over to a friend’s house to BBQ this evening. She wants to play badminton and play 99 too. It should be fun as it’s the “core” group we usually hang out with. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve all been together in a group and we miss each other.
That was funny! Fortunately I named that tune rather quickly since I’m in a public place.
In other news, yikes!
A young Facebook friend of mine (his dad is an old friend of mine ) just posted a rather explicit status which I believe was meant to be a private email for his girlfriend. Oops!
I hope he catches it before too many of his friends, or worse, his parents read it!
Well then, I sent him an email asking if he meant to put that as his status and his answer was “lol yeah y”. Gee, um maybe because your friends and family don’t want the details of the sexual escapades that you’re planning for Monday.
Oh well, I tried.
We’re at a craft and car show and it’s about as exciting as last week’s hamfest.
My standards may be low but I aim higher than leaving the house in my jammies everyday
Yay for AC rosie. I love AC especially given it was 89 degs at 7.30 this morning when I ran to Starbucks.
The caffiene has not yet kicked but I have to get my butt in gear and get the house sorted out as I am sick of living in chaos and having my clothes in several piles in other rooms and many other things. Laterz!
