It's Alive!-A Bachelor Fridge MMP

Afternoon all. Sorry to hear about the kitteh though. :pokes nasty people with very sharp pointy stick of doom:

Nothing exciting happening here today, that’ll be because I am at work. We had a meeting about rearranging and de-cluttering our office today, I am only partially involved in that because I’ll be moving to the medical school next month so although I will need a desk here, I won’t be here permanently any more. Then I went to see the lady in Occupational and Environmental Medicine that I’m doing some work for as she had something she wanted to talk through with me so that I can do it this afternoon while I’m up there.

After work I’m meeting my friend in town and we’re off to Las Iguanas which is a Latin American restaurant. The best bit, of course, is the two-for-one cocktails…

I stayed up too late last night.

::yawn::

Good luck, Buns!

Rosie’s sig to the rest of ya…

:yawn::

Blurf.

My interview yesterday was for a facilities engineering position with a MAJOR employer in the area. I have not a clue how I did, but the interviewer and I joked and talked all the way through. That could be good or bad.

With all the Animaniacs nostalgia going on, I should point out that there are some wimminfolk I greet in person with “Hello-o-o-o-o NURSE!!!” instead of the usual “Hiya, gorgeous!” It started with LorraineTheBabe from the rescue squad, who is, conveniently enough, both an RN and prime time eye candy. She’s also a fan of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, so the joke is not lost on her.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

I like this. May no one need luck today: but if you do, may it be in your favor.

Is that too deep for Thursday morning?

Swampy, I agree. I got a good man. Those are difficult to find.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning awl!

annie, isn’t there a variant of the five-seconds rule for dog licks?

fcm, sounds like you won’t be bored with your new group.

Looks like we need to change boofae’s nick to doc.

Nothing exciting going on today but tomorrow my department is taking the afternoon off and being treated to a little whine. Why, yes, Flawduh actually does have a vinyard. I’ll let y’all know how it is. Should be fun.

Tupug

I don’t know but if you find out drop a quiet word ------- I’m far enough away to never be a suspect. I usually avoid fights but exceptions can always be made.

Maybe we should call her Slappy???

VWife reminds me on a regular basis that men are like parking places: the good ones are taken, and the rest are handicapped.

I usually reply with, “Laugh all you want, everything valuable is in my name.”

**Ruble:**Amos are supposed to be pacifists. That’s why I grew up a Brewtheran.

Currently I’m in the ELCA ------ we hit people, we just try not to act too proud about it.
Seriously, I am indeed pretty much a pacifist. But there is something with abusing animals - beating them, poisoning the neighbors pet, wounding game and leaving it - that just makes me want to lose it all over the one doing it. Add to that the basic fact that most extreme sickos start their practice on animals and I think we all got good reason to take it a damn lot more serious than we do. “Crime against property” - sheesh, give me a break!

That’s the idea, yes. It’s what we wished each other in college, heading into an exam.

Good luck Sticky Buns.

Bobbio, it sounds like things probably went pretty well. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I finally got the scoop on what’s going on with my middle sister and it isn’t good. Some of you may remember she had to go in for gall bladder and stone removal last week. While there, she also had a liver biopsy.

Turns out she has fibroids on her liver as well as a disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. Basically, the bile ducts in and outside of the liver are scarred, swollen, and misshapen. As the disease progresses, it results in cirrhosis, crystallization of the liver and other things. The only treatment is liver transplant, otherwise, she could die.

I don’t know how far along this has progressed for her. She has an appointment on the 27th with her specialist. So, I don’t know if it’s a case of she must get on the transplant list now, or if she has a bit of time yet. I think that’s the worst part; the not knowing…

I’d been trying to call her since I arrived home on Sunday, but she hadn’t returned my calls. Now I know why. She explained last night she just didn’t feel like talking to anybody and I can well understand that. She needed time to absorb everything she’s been told.

Anyway, I’d appreciate some positive thoughts for her. She needs them.

Back to the manure pile that is work…

{{{Taters and Sis}}}. Y’all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Ima go out to the pool for a while just cause I can.

This. I pray for the best outcome possible.

I would think of that as an honor. I love that squirrel.

Same here!

Slappy - living as close to W VA as I do, that last remark just sounds sordid. I’ve heard it before ------- but it still sounds sordid.

Oh, Taters. I am so sorry about your sister. Many, many positive thoughts headed your way.
Really frustrating, soul-sapping, demoralizing news from work. I am angry and upset on many levels. I give up with that place. Just gonna keep my head down, do my stuff and ignore everything else.

Ugh.

Annie, every time I read your name, I see it as Anne Ominous, which would be even more awesome than the original.

Soapy, sounds like you and I are in the same work boat. But I can’t just duck and avoid it: they’re dragging me into meetings!

Hope it gets better. If not, here’s the boat oar. Whack somebody with it.

Hey, thanks! Maybe we could trade for a day!

Welcome to the MMP- yours is new face!

Psst, Soapy! Annie is the mumper formerly known as Jules.

and she’s been around all week
