It's Alive!-A Bachelor Fridge MMP

Try the veal!
[sub]No, not really because it’s cute baby cows.[/sub]

Home, pooped, and off tomorrow - yay! Bernie and Taz have vet appts this afternoon, and tomorrow, daughter and I drive to BWI to fetch nephew for a week-long visit. Supper tonight might be pizza, or PB&J… we shall see.

Project that kept me late 2 days running has been posted, so yay for that. Second project is going to involve something that’s *waaaaaay *over my head - a new way of doing an old task. I was talking today to the guy who’s working on the new process. He’s actually writing the algorithms, which means he’s not only smarter than I am, but we don’t speak the same language. Plus I think he’s way over-caffeinated - I swear, I get all fidgety just talking to him! But we shall see how things go.

I also got a quickie task from my boss that I slam-dunked in short order. As long as I don’t need an algorithm to formulate an answer, I do good! :smiley:

It’s hot out and I’m tired of summer. I’ve also got way more tomatoes than I’d expected. I planted 3 cherry tomato plants because soon-to-be-ex-SIL likes them. But he’s gone, so I have tons. Maybe I’ll chop them and the pepper and some onion for salsa?

MOOOOOOM homemade salsa is never not a good thing. Just sayin’.

We just finished an early dindin of hotdawgs, baked beans and N.O.T. sallit. OYKW snuck off work a little early and is off tomorrow cause of an appointment with his eye doctor. I was gonna say the fancy name for eye doctor but it didn’t look right when I typed it. Anywho, since the sallit was already made and the baked beans made up ready to cook, I baked 'em in the convection oven and grilled up the dawgs cause we both was hongry and wanted dindin now. So we had a homemade early bird geezer special. :smiley:

I gets to drive him to the doctor tomorrow cause no doubt his eyes will get dilated (or however that’s spelled) and he’ll need a chauffeur (or however that’s spelled). The upside is lunch at the good Chinese place cause he’s treatin’. Works for da bear! I think he’s already tired of the Driving Miss Daisy references.

Hoping for the best for Tater’s sister.
Sort of good news for me, I got a new drug and have a lot less hives. But I feel like a zombie (minus the brain munching). Even goofed and posted in a pit thread which I was still thinking was a CS thread, there is just no room for error or forgiveness in the pit. 'Tis a silly place.

Hello everyone!

{{{Taters & Family}}}

Man crazy couple weeks alongside travel nightmares. My flight out of Houston last week was 4 1/2 hours delayed which meant I missed my connection on the only flight there is per day out of Denver to home. I managed to get them to re-direct me to LAX so hubby could pick me up but they couldnt get me on a direct flight so via Denver I went and almost missed the fligth to LAX. Running through a terminal in flip flops is never fun. Finally made it home at 2AM Saturday morning then I was on another flight on Sunday at 7AM. Urgh this travel is kickign my butt!

Home for a couple of days although I still haven’t finished setting up the house how I want it to be…Saturday when mr ems is playing golf is the plan to get some more done on that!

Right got to get back to my project I am working on…

Nope, not new. Just Juliana repackaged. :slight_smile:

And if you wanna work QA in a call center, sure!

So sorry about your sister’s news, Taters. Hugs and good thoughts for your whole family.

Heh. I don’t think I’d ever seen Animaniacs. Great riff on Abbott & Costello (which is still my favorite).

Hi** mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm**!

Glad the hives are improving, Coyote.

Longish day, today; managed to oversleep.

Having hot dog and some fruit and veggies for din din, then it’s out to the garden for a bit and then back in to make more progress on the indoors.

It’s still quite hot out. Ick.

Back later with more…

GT

Howdy mmmmmm!

So, we haven’t had a whole lot of rain and the back yahd is lookin’ a little bad. Thus, I decided to turn on the sprinkler system just for the back. Guess what! It appears a storm is brewin’. Just after I finish waterin’. :dubious:

Home from work, Bachelor Food is on the stove, beer is in hand. My smartphones says I need to “.klujklu” today.:dubious::confused:

{{{{Taters and sis}}}}}

swampy, I do homemade salsa for hockey tailgates. [Homer]mmmm…hockey…[/Homer]

Had some really good Mexican food for lunch; the chili was so close to being a solid you could form it into balls and throw it at co-workers. At least I think you could. Cause a good sweat even before I added the “Ass In Space” hot-sauce to it.

Of course the bill will come due eventually ----- but it was worth every minute of it.

*grrrrrr *- I had a response mostly done, and idiot Ziva stepped on just the right key on my keyboard and killed it. Stoopit cat! Summary - critters did fine at the vet, altho Taz yowled the whole time. Daughter and I had Bad Chinese for supper.

{{TaterSis}}

I got a call from Kids Support Network to contribute towards a back pack, school supplies, and school clothes for a local kid. So they’re coming tomorrow to pick up my check. Anything for education - certainly one of my favorite causes. Which is a good thing, because daughter is always looking for us to contribute. But that’s fine - it’s important to us. Yay for ejamakashun!! :smiley:

Nephew called - he’s all excited about coming tomorrow. It’ll be fun seeing him again. He’s OK for a 16-y/o boy!

Thanks for all the hugs/nice thoughts everyone.

The only good thing about today was that it was my Friday. Enough said.

Hugs and smooches to all.

I’s starving…I just read the rest of the thread while I am waiting on **mr ems **coming back from what he called ‘The Be Nice Now!’ class…aka mandatory Harassment training for anyone in a supervisory role.

Supper will be green salad, corn, broccoli and grilled portobellos stuffed with grilled veggies and giganto shrimp. Yum!

Oh!

My!

When did that happen?

Here’s where she told us.

Hey **rebo! ** Any further news on Dipsey?

{{{Taters and Sis}}}
Yawn.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’! YAWN

I slept really good last night and was wide awake a little after five. Thus, I am up.

MOOOOOOM my church collects backpacks, school supplies and assorted school related stuff and donates it to a support group of grandmothers who are raising their grandchildren. The group is sponsored through the Area Agency on Aging. It’s one of our ongoing community outreach projects because, well, school supplies are always needed. A lot of stuff on the list is pretty cheap, so I buy a bunch of it three or four times a year. I’m like you on this in that edjikashun is a cause I can get behind.

I’s hongry but I don’t wanna wake OYKW just yet. His appointment is at 9:30 this mornin’, so there’s no need for him to be up now. Perhaps I’ll be nice and wait until at least seven. I know. I’m such an angel! :smiley:

Up, not yet caffeinating. My nephew called last night to find out who was meeting him at the airport. Since he has vision issues, daughter will be allowed to go to the gate to fetch him. I’ll be waiting in the cell phone lot for her call. That way, we don’t have to pay for parking - bad enough it’s a 90-ish minute drive from home.

I need to finish tidying the guest room for him, plus I told FCD I’d mix up a batch of salt water for an aquarium change. Our fishies haven’t had new water in 3 weeks! So they’ll get a change tonight.

There was an earthquake a bit north of DC at 5 this morning - 3.6 or 3.7 reported. Those of you in real earthquake land will scoff, but it’s a big deal around here. And apparently it was felt pretty far away. Not as far as where I live, tho. But it made for excited newsreaders.

Looks like we made it - *** TGIF!!!***

Earthquake - dead ahead! Oh my gosh, it’s true! I finally felt my first earthquake, and it was right here in the DC area. It was so loud, that’s what really surprised me; it was like a sonic boom, except that the earth really was tremboling (or whatever it does during a quake!) - there was some definite shaking going on! That was just around 5 am. I thought to myself, as I was watching the early morning news, “what the hell was that?!” and a bit later, they’re telling me it was a quake. Still very surprised.

And indeed, TGIF!!! I’m a bit caffeinated, need to get to work but don’t imagine I’ll be much good today. LOL

Taters, your family and especially your sister is in my prayers.
