Outside colored lights still up & our fake tree… because we love Jesus so much.
My dad still does. And he’s one of them with all the freestanding ornamentation. They go up in early November, before the snow, and they don’t come down entirely until spring. Santa stays up on that roof all winter long. It’s a shame he has to spend his post-Christmas break on my dad’s roof.
Got all the roof lights down the last weekend of January. Every other time I had a chance to do it, it was gusty, snowy, rainy or dangerously cold. Had a 48 degree Saturday afternoon and no wind, and got 'em all down.
I trim the whole roof, porch and gables with lights. Everything else had been taken down within 10 days of the new year.
I cut people slack through January, because the weather doesn’t always cooperate. If everything except the tough exterior lights are down, it is understandable.
My wife likes the wreath on the door, so there it still sits. It may be there in July.
I don’t, but that is probably only because I didn’t put any up.
Holy cripes, quit nagging!!!
The last of the ornaments should be down tonight, I am told. I have NOTHING to do with any interior decorations at all. My outside snowmen and wreaths were down three weeks ago.
One of my co-workers has a little tree in her office. A couple weeks ago, we removed all the little elves and Santas from it and hung those plastic football helmets from vending machines. That’s until next week - it’s a football tree.
Then she’ll hang hearts. Then, bunnies. We think the tree may never come down.

[li]The Christmas and winter decorations went up Thanksgiving weekend.[/li][li]The Christmas decorations came down just before New Years.[/li][li]The winter decorations came down last weekend, the same time the Valentines Day decorations went up. So while the exterior Christmas lights are long since packed away, the red rope light under the eaves not only remains, but was turned on this weekend (night only) to go with the Valentines Day stuff.[/li][/ol]
After Valentines Day, those decorations come down and the St. Pat’s decorations go up. It’s a neverending cycle at our place. After St. Pat’s there the Spring stuff, Memorial Day, Summer stuff, July 4th, Autumn stuff, Halloween, Thanksgiving and it starts all over again. My wife has something like 35 12-gallon plastic crates of “decorations” outdoor flags, banners, lights, etc.
