It's fucking SNOWING. AGAIN.

Heh. Here in Missouri, we can almost pack them in one day.

Here it comes, more fucking white shit.
This is it, I’ve fucking had it.
More inches of snow,
The drifts they will grow,
It’s a fucking winter wonderland!

I need a plow to walk my dog.
I’m gonna kill a fucking groundhog.
He made this stay,
For that he will pay!
It’s a fucking winter wonderland!

In my driveway I can curse and labor,
Just to watch more of it blow in.
I swear to God I’ll kill my fucking neighbor
If he starts his snowblower again!

Every day, it grows higher
And my mood is growing dire
Oh just my luck,
It’s starting to fuck
It’s a fucking winter wonderland.

When I grew up in West Virginia, winters like this were normal. The air would rush across the flat space of Ohio, then would hit the mountains of WV and eastern OH and rise and would dump all of its moisture as snow.

Then I moved to MD, and then just up across the border in PA (kinda near Gettysburg). This area tends to get little puffs of snow, covering the ground for a few days, then melting. We generally get only a few major snows per winter, and you pretty much never see snow on the ground for more than a couple of weeks straight. For most of the winter, you don’t see any snow at all on the ground.

This year, we’ve had more snow than we’ve had in the past 20 years I have been here combined.

I used to miss the WV snows. It doesn’t feel so much like winter here without snow. But that this point, I’ve had enough.

I told my wife yesterday I can’t wait until the 4th of July so we can shovel the snow off of the back patio to have fireworks.

I saw a map the other day. It turns out that this has been the warmest winter on record for the globe overall. Every place on the map was above average in temperatures, with one teeny tiny little exception, the eastern U.S.

You can look at the map yourself here:

“This has been the warmest winter on record, except in the most politically important part of the world” - Washington Post

Doesn’t that make you feel better?

Hunting, Winter, Black Fly and Mosquito?

It ain’t spring around here until at least the Red Sox home opener (April 13, this season). I’ve been to games with some nasty, cold, crappy spring weather in April and May.

Snow just stopped, at least 6 inches. The winter snow had just about melted away before this.

At least the driveway stayed mostly clean. Weird mix of factors. It was a wet heavy snow but hit the warm driveway and melted and the wind was driving the snow in a way that a tree line along my driveway blocked a goodly amount of the snow.

My husband commutes from our home in NJ to NYC by bus. He said the commute home was surprisingly easy. Much of the snow (at least here in northern NJ) only accumulated on the grass with a small spattering on the ground. It’s melting today as it is 49 outside right now. So we have spring albeit a day late. I’m starting to feel like I live in Colorado with Kolga.

That sucks. Some friends in Europe went to Chamonix and did the Valle Blanche glacier off Mont Blanc. The video they sent me had April like crevasses and they had to hike out the last two miles as the run out trail was devoid of snow, so Europe is pretty screwed as well.
Looking at Engineer Comp Geeks link, it would back that up and shows the only people getting snow and cold weather are those who don’t want it, and for the politicians of a certain reality denying ilk, really shouldn’t see.
Mother Nature really took careful aim and shot herself in the foot this year.

Really??? Mother Nature just did this to herself for no reason at all, huh?

It snowed all morning and I loved it. KEEP IT COMING!!!

I think we now know who to sacrifice to the weather gods.

Let me just introduce this here:

weather thread for dummies!

I live in Colorado. Near 70 yesterday, over 70 today and tomorrow. Most of this winter has been warmer and dryer than normal. Looks like fire season will start early again this year. I’d way rather have more snow.

If we were to overdo the whole anthropomorphism of the worlds climate, Mother Nature dumping snow on people who have significant influence over climate policy , of whom a large number are in denial over facts , would be a shooting in the foot type thing.

Well, it’s minus fucking 16 C here right now. March 22, and -16. I’m so fed up with this shit this winter.

Hell, IIRC, Mother Nature used to throw a major hissy fit if you served her Chiffon margarine instead of butter.

I don’t bother taking them off. Just run them year round since winter lasts longer than summer. March and April are our big snow months. There will be snow in the yard through June. Summer is August 3rd. (Central Colorado Mountains).

I’d way rather trade you places.

Well, it isn’t nice to fool Mother Nature.

In Tampa we haven’t had snow since 1977, but we used to at least get frosts and freezes most winters. I haven’t seen a frozen puddle in at least four years.
