It's getting worse for Hillary

Bernie Sanders leads Hillary in New Hampshire

The handling of the e-mail debacle is backfiring on her campaign

She’ll still probably be the nominee, but how will these perception issues impact moderate voters in the general election?

One outlier poll that includes non candidate Biden is hardly an indication of anything. I do want to read political wire today and see what the folks over here have to say about the poll’s methodology.

It won’t stop the Bernie Bots from cluttering my Facebook feed today, however.

From the article.

In case anyone missed it there is a wave of anti-establishment sentiment in the electorate right now. Hillary and her desired opponent Jeb are in trouble for the nonce. I don’t think this will hold out when the actual primaries start, that’s when the party base comes out, but Trump and Sanders are tapping into a real sentiment. Hopefully this is a messy primary season leading to brokered candidates at the conventions, because it’s all more entertaining that way.

Agree.

State dept. flags 305 more emails for review of classified information.

This is the gift that keeps giving for her.

I also think her attempts to label this as political punditry are false…last time I checked the State dept. is run by the white house.

Attempts at humor like she tried in Iowa over the weekend (how she just got on snapchat because it deletes everything automatically) fall flat on people that think she doesn’t really get it.

Her best way to make this go away, would be to own up and say she didn’t use the best judgment to have her own email server as the Secretary of State, and that she learned that the hard way.

I’ve also heard that the voters in this election care about the economy.

Given the story references they need to be done with their review of what can released under FOIA by Jan this could really be the gift that keeps on giving. Those conducting that initial review will likely be extremely diligent and err on the side of caution. Nobody wants to be linked to accidentally releasing more classified information on such a high profile case. We’re probably looking at a rolling press release of “x emails tagged for further review.” In the meantime, every little bit of information will get spun by both sides. That potentially could be more damaging than any substantive findings at the end.

You don’t think those things are related?

No no no! The best way to make this go away is for HER to go away. Drop out of the race, move to a small island in the Indian ocean and devote her life to searching for MH 370 debris.

Backing up a bit… given all the issues with Ken Starr and White House records during her husband’s Presidency, why didn’t Hillary anticipate any problems with using a private email server while Secretary of State? I haven’t seen, in any of the coverage of the controversy, who advised her to do it in the first place. Why did it seem like a good idea at the time? She had to have known that the press, her political foes, the State Dept., Natl. Archives etc. would want to see her official emails, and would be willing to sue/make hay over any refusal.

Just bad judgment all around. Apparently she had the server from her 2008 POTUS run, and she suggested that she just continue using it once she became SOS. Instead of telling her that it was a bad idea, her staff just made it happen.

Because she would be in control all the time ? Plus it would be no more vulnerable than State servers.
However she didn’t seem able to manage autodelete.

I imagine because Hillary didn’t grow up using computers, her instincts and judgment regarding computers are quite a bit worse than her instincts and judgment regarding other aspects of politics and administration.

So far, I haven’t seen anything to suggest any more likely explanation, and I haven’t seen any emails with information that would obviously (or even not-so-obviously) damaging to our security if released.

Apparently she also grew up not knowing how to choose a staff and/or listen to their advice.

Or her experience with the Republicans (don’t hang it on Starr, he was just their agent) helps her understand that they’re going to blow up whatever they can into whatever pseudoscandal they can manufacture, and the more petty and ridiculous that appears the better it is for her.

There is much less available for them to make of from lack of cooperation with this latest Benghazi fishing trip than their would be over the target-rich environment of years of sensitive records that need to be kept confidential in the national interest. That’s why.

Not really. It’s a “Have you stopped beating your wife?” situation. If she tries to laugh it off it will be called hand-waving and the demand for answers will grow. If she plays the victim card again she’ll be laughed off.

Unless someone can prove some sort of Gary Glitter type scandal on her, rather than shrieking as they have for the last 20+ years, then I don’t think any real damage will be done.

Only from those who cannot be convinced. The target audience is the swing voters, who have been sick of this shit for years now.

And that makes them sick of her. There’s no up side to this for her, the swing voters will see this continuing if she’s elected.
