It's like being paid to use the gym!

After 20 odd years of sitting at a desk for 8-10 hours a day, five or six days a week and tiring of the stress and office politics that went with it, I chucked it all in and took a job as a picker in a warehouse 6 weeks ago.

Plus side: I’ve lost 12 pounds in weight, three inches from my gut, I have a lot more energy, I don’t fall asleep in front of the telly anymore and, all in all, I am a lot happier and more relaxed.

Downside: I probably earn just over half of what I used to but what the hell, you can’t take it with you!

As a person who suffers from sleep difficulties I’d consider this a drawback.

Inspired by Office Space much?

Seriously, congratulations. That probably took a firm grasp of one’s equipment.

Good for you Legion.

You may have discovered a secret to happiness.

I’d love to do the same but my wife, kids and house own me at the moment :frowning:

You CAN take it with you! My friend’s wealthy mother-in-law insisted on taking all her money with her when she died. Eventually the old bag keeled over. They kept their promise to bury her with her fortune…which was quite large…so they wrote her a cheque/check.
:stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve heard a lawyer joke along those lines

I really admire your positive attitude, Legion.

Good for you.

I hope I dont end up doing this, though, becaus it would be a shame to waste all that college education.
