It's like the Red Wedding but....

Fuck Depo.

That is all.

Ok, well PP wasn’t able to get me in at all this week. Which isn’t surprising. It’s the only one in the county so it’s a bit busy. I called the local clinic I used to go to, hoping maybe I might have a few days left on my insurance. It doesn’t actually END till the 31st! Booyah! So I’ve got an appointment with a doctor tomorrow at 9am. The receptionist was so nice. When I told her I was having a ‘serious BC reaction…but uhh not so serious that it’s an emergency but it’s really really kinda bad…’ she seemed to know exactly what I was not saying. She asked if I’d prefer a female doctor this time, which I have NEVER been asked before and I graciously accepted. So here’s to hoping for something to stop the flow. Maybe a cork?

Gooooo! I went on BC as a teen for my wonky periods, and the first one I tried had disastrous results. I still haven’t told my friend it was me who sat on her bed and bled all over everything. My parents took me to a walk-in clinic and they gave me some sort of drug they give to hemophiliacs to stop the bleeding. I tried a different BC pill the next month and I’ve been fine since.

I think the single greatest regret in my life is READING THIS THREAD!
UGH!

yes I am a man, if are wondering and very happy about it.

I’m a dude. I’m very sorry you ladies are having such problems, and I’m very glad I don’t menstruate. That is all.

Ok, so the doctor and the nurse were very nice and understanding. Even after I told them I only had started Depo just because I was tired of having a period every month. I guess now it’s time to pay the piper XD They both were pretty honest in saying “well, this is what can happen if you mess with your hormones”. Doctor pretty much told me I’d have to wait to get regular again and that it can take a year. But, she prescribed me some progesterone pills to try and help get everything back on track a little faster. So hopefully that’ll stem the tide before work starts. Never ever gonna use depo again!

Sorry, I’ve been out of pocket a few days. Yeah, stopping hormones can cause backlash, as in You Will Pay. Theoretically, it will settle down in a few months, if you can make it that long. In my anovulatory days I had one period that lasted 6 weeks, but only at a light level. My RN mom was almost hysterical herself when she found out. I tend to take care of myself by myself, that was frustrating and confusing for her.

How old are you? That amount of bleeding is definitely abnormal and needed checking with a doctor, as you did. Good for you! I will have to admit I am she of crochet hookfame and have since had a complete hysterectomy (that means they take out the ovaries with the uterus). I am back at work but still in recovery; every day is exhausting but every day I feel I can handle more, so all to the good.

Bottom line, you are the only person in charge of your health, and the person most interested and affected by it. Do what you need to do, and make your decisions knowing that they may affect the rest of your life. Fight what you can and learn to deal with the rest. Other women have survived, probably you will too. I regret that I can’t be more optimistic, but real life can be a bitch.

I hope that you will feel better and gain some control or at least have some peace with your body.

Monstro, indeed this does not deserve whispering, it should be shouted from the rooftops. It is a shame that a woman’s pain and bleeding be discounted just because it happens every month.

And Zebra strongly resembles something like a wuss. .
