I am. The tiny newspaper I work for doesn’t give its staffers very many holidays – just the biggies, like Christmas. I guess I can compensate by not working very HARD – posting here, f’rinstance.
Anybody else on the job?
I’m on day 14 of a 19 consecutive day stretch. (Viva la overtime!) As usual, I am refusing to work very hard.
My fiance is. 
At least he gets time and a half. But today was supposed to be his day off anyway, and he stupidly traded it with someone…I guess he wanted the extra money.
You get Christmas off? I’m lucky to get a “biggie” holiday off, let alone Memorial Day. Last (and only) holiday I didn’t have to work was Easter of 1999. Chalk me up for having to work today.
I worked. Of course, I’m in Canada. We had our holiday last Monday.
I just graduated and my new consulting job doesn’t start until the fall. My firm sent me my signing bonus early so I have something to live off of this summer.
So in other words, every day for the next three months is Memorial Day for me.

Ah, the wonderful world of computers. My work is open 24/7, 365. I haven’t had a holiday off since Christmas 1999. We do get triple time, but that only goes so far when your missing every holiday. I finally have moved up enough in seniority so the only holiday I have to work after this one is Labor Day. Then no more holidays all year. Woohooo!

I work for a credit card issuer-holidays are on a volunteer basis.
So I volunteered to stay home,stay up all night Sunday,sleep in today,drink beer and GET PAID FOR IT!
I feel your pain,really I do. I used to work retail and the only holiday we got off was Christmas and that was only because the union saud so.
I see from your profile that you are a night auditor. Is the schedule for the average night auditor really that heinous?
I do. The airport doesn’t close.
Hospitals don’t close for holidays. Of course I’m working.
And I’m having a good time!
