It's Moanday So Here Is The New MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and cloudy (OK I trust it’s cloudy but all I see is darkness) with a predicted high of 73 and N.O.S. this afternoon. We shall see. The big plan today is to defilthyfy da cave which is not too filthy but could use a dustin’, vacuumin’, and moppin’ bein’ as last week I did not desire to do these things. Since I’m up this early I could get a start and get it done. Or not. One never knows with me. We shall sup upon my world famous Eyetalian Chikin and whatever sides I decide upon, perhaps peas 'n carrots and smashed N.O.T.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hungry. Then I suppose I should get on with the bidness of spiffin’ da cave. Rah.

OK Y’all, hijack away!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

W00T! FIRST!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Foggy and moony this morning.

Second! Woot!

Up, caffeinated, sheveled and at work. It is always good to be sheveled when one is at one’s irkplace. Today I have meetings and a training thing about auditing files for our overseas students with a particular kind of study visa. I am apparently now part of the audit team (must have signed up for that in my sleep) and will be carrying out said audit next week.

Nothing much exciting going on, went to see a band last night which was fun but may be the last time they perform in their current incarnation. On the plus side, I picked up a CD for blokie so that’s another hexmas present stashed away. Consequently, I was late getting to bed and is tired today.

Is it hometime yet?

Moony and sorta-foggy here, also, tho maybe more misty than foggy.

Sometime today, I need to call the furnace place and arrange for a repair person. I also need to call the vet’s office and find out if our cats have had the tests and/or shots for feline leukemia and feline AIDS so’s they can go to the cattery when we head to FL for Christmas.

I’m a bit worried about Taz - he horked up a couple of times over the weekend, and this morning, he was in the pantry checking out the shelf where we keep the critter foods. There’s plenty of kitteh kibbles in the feeder thingie, so he can’t be starving. But he does seem thinner. I’ll keep an eye on him and decide if he need a vet visit.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. Lots to do, no time to do it. The usual stuff.

Happy Moanday!!

Pull your pants up!

Good morning all. Currenly about 56F heading for 65F, but that’s going to be about as good as it gets this week, rain moves in tomorrow and the temperatures start heading down; there’s even a small chance for snow (the Horrror! the Horror!) by the weekend.

Just doing my morning browsing, then will try to get some work done. Or not.

What metalmouse said

I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday. Imagine my shock/horror when I realized I had to go to irk.

Warm today but cloudy. It still may end up being a Sportie day. I double tomorrow, Thursday and have to visit my Croaker for my usual 5000 mile check-up and tune-up Wednesday so I got a really full week ahead.

Next is worse ----- doubles Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a motorcycle club party Saturday.

I can’t wait for January and a chance to relax.

Da cave is now all spiffed. Go me! TWPTB say a cold front is comin’ with lots of rain Wednesday through the rest of the week. We shall see.

In this state, vehicles that do less than 5000/year are emission exempt at inspection time. The first year I did more than 5000 miles on my bike there was some concern that to be compliant I would have to go in for an “emissions test”.
I got up, looked out & saw the full, supermoon up in the sky; was planning on getting some pix when it got lower on the horizon/closer to moonset…but then very thick fog rolled in. :frowning: There was a car 30 yards away that I could only see the brake lights on; couldn’t even make out the outline of it.

LUNCH!! Finally!!

It’s been one of those mornings. Good times… :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s morning. Yep, it’s that.

I posted a picture of the cat in my cake box over on Facebook. We finally had my birthday cake yesterday (it was meh, which is on me, since I picked it out - does this mean I get another one :p), so Boo kitty decided she fit in the box and curled right up.

Blurf Went to the vampire and got all my meds refilled. Blurf.

Now at irk.

The Croaker is what I call my GP. My 5000 mile check-up is what I call my 6 months physical. I hope she doesn’t check my emissions although sometimes she does.

I sometimes kid her that Garfield the Cat and I have the same doctor as both are named Liz.

I also kid her over her last name since it includes the word SLAY. She blames that on her husband “Killer”.

Mild blurf.

Skool today was a bit interesting; two classes, mornin’ lecturer has a >1 month old baby, and said he hadn’t slept in a week (he actually didn’t know it was the last class of term, I told him come in next week anyway, just sleep in the classroom) and afternoon was the last lecture with the guy who was saying weird stuff last week, before he quits at the end of the week. It was a bit more coherent today, but not a whole lot of lernin’ was done.

We get the first bit of actual assessed part-of-the-year’s-grade stuff tomorrow. I’m reasonably confident that I know the stuff we’re being tested on, but I shall find out tomorrow!

Nut, good luck on the exams, and better luck in educators the next session.

ruble, my insurance only picks up one exam per year’s time, so I’m good until March.

FCM, hang in there, remember YOU’RE the one who didn’t want to retire…:p:D

Sunny, what is it about cats and boxes? I’ve never owned a cat so really don’t understand them.

Talked to the travel agent about my planned China trip. He suggested an April departure (they already have the minimum needed to book it), and that would probably be more sensible, but it’s also in the middle of Spring Soccer, so… I’ll stick with the hot season (can’t be any hotter than North Ali-bama in July…). The company also has a Yangtze river cruise option, same price, so I need to review that before making a final call.

But after 40 years since I promised myself I would visit China, looks like I’m finally going!!

Actually, the one with the new baby is normally great, he manages to make a subject that I looked at and went ‘Urgh, sounds dull’ really interesting, and he’s very good at making complicated stuff seem simple. Baby being early and the accompanying unplanned time off and zombification has not been ideal, but I’d be more than happy to get him again for a later module.

I feel a bit mean being not sorry at all that the other guy’s leaving; he’s apparently been teaching for the college for 15 years, but he had the knack of making simple stuff incredibly complicated, mis-speaking and forgetting to mention crucial bits of information. If you’re teaching a topic, you should not be saying ‘This is the x, together, they’re called the y. Or maybe it’s the other way round, I can’t remember. Anyone know?’ then guessing (wrongly) for the rest of the lecture. And then three weeks later, going through it again, and *still *not knowing, and not bothering to check despite the computer being right there. Especially when this is something that’s likely to come up in the exam, which is not going to be marked by him because he quit… :dubious:

I expect to be doing extra research into a topic, I don’t expect to have to research which bits of today’s lecture were wrong.

Home. Short day tomorrow since I’ve got to be home for the furnace repair guy. I need to be here by noon - but I can get in 5 hours of work before I have to leave. So there’s that.

**FCD **doesn’t want supper. Dunno what I’ll make for me - there’s 1 leftover rib - what kind of meal can I build around that? Maybe I’ll do something with pasta and veggies. I’s hongree!!

**MetalMouse **- I’m not regretting my decision to work - I was just irritated that the drawing I was trying to modify was taking soooooooo loooooooooong to update. I know why, but I still wasn’t happy about it. Dem’s da breaks!

Nobody understands cats! Congrats on your China trip!

Nut good luck on your exam, loopy instructor and all. It seems awfully quick. I feel like you have just started. Then again, the whole year is like. Some weird nightmare of time that is both elongated and compressed. (Not that your school is like that.)

Grocery shopping done, which completes my usefulness for today. It shall be sushi for dinner tonight.

ok I pay my aunts bills online for her and in all the hubbub yesterday between xmas decorating and them going grocery shopping and the running battle I have with her useless censored paragraph of a daughter I apparently paid off a credit card with money we didn’t have to the tune of about 500 dollars I didn’t notice the confirmation screen

I checked my aunts account and found she was overdrawn 267$…

Which luckily I have a account that does cash advances via paypal …

Only good thing happening is hopefully the dryer’s getting fixed and he doesn’t need to order parts as I type this

So hopefully this ends a weekend of woe …
