Poor Sleeping in the MMP

Well, again I took a much longer nap in the afternoon (from 5-9PM) which finds me awake at this hour to start the MMP (it’s 0020 here). So this is the week to complain about too little (or on the rare occasions, too much) sleep.

I did accept the builder’s offer to remodel my kitchen/bathrooms, so I do have that to look forward to keeping me awake in the future. Any thoughts on the color I should paint my bathrooms/kitchen (I’m leaning towards a light green for the bathrooms and either a light yellow or gold color for the kitchen).

Otherwise this week is nothing much planned, may finally go see “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Incredibles 2” at the movies (used the long China flights to see “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Black Panther”, so I’m pretty much caught up).

Happy Moonday!

It’s a dark 70 degrees outside and supposed to get up to 90 today.

I’m up too early. I went to bed at 9pm - early for me - and woke at 3:39.
At least my body let me sleep for more than 4 hours. I tried to go back to sleep but it isn’t going to happen, so here I am.

I got my new chair yesterday, my son put it together, and now I can sit out back in comfort.

Happy Renovating** MetalMouse**.
I envy you the new look, but I don’t envy the mess.
However, since the kitchen and bath were redone right before I bought my house it is going to be a long time before any renovations get done around here.
I like yellow for kitchens.
I think any color works for the bath, I would go light green, light blue, or lavender. Mne is white with black accents, but that is because it came with white walls and my son likes black. So black towels, black rugs, black and white shower curtain. It’s a very small room so keep it simple.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and fair, whatever that means, with a predicted high of 89 (BRRR!) and a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. The big item on today’s agendy is to defilthyfy da cave. Rah. Actually it’s not that bad so shouldn’t take a long time. Tonight is men’s night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. I shall head over around four this afternoon to get stuff ready as is my usual wont to do.

Metal Mouse gold in the kitchen? Don’t forget the avocado green or poppyseed red appliances to match. I’ve still got some makeover stuff to do, well, get done. Decided to wait until Fall or Winter to redo the floors. Livin’ with a remodel ain’t for the faint of heart.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day. Rah!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Good morning everyone. 5:20 am., and second cup of coffee, so hopefully my posting is at least coherent. It’s 83 according to my outside thermometer and it’s predicted to top 100 all week here. At one point they were claiming 104F on Friday, but have backed off thinking possible rain. One can only hope.

The local lake is 3 feet low already, with continued drops likely for the rest of the summer. Another 3 feet will render it essentially unusable. Hoping for rain here.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
metalMouse:

  1. Sleep is for the weak.
  2. I live in an apartment, so renovations are limited to fixing water damage from when the upstairs floods. Which is more often than you’d imagine.:dubious:

Finally getting some wet stuff magically falling from the sky here!

Gonna try spend today Organising Things. Having not managed to get a job related to plants, I’m gonna try volunteer at the local plant nursery- going over there shortly to discuss it.

Also trying to start looking at an official irk experience placement for skool next year- doesn’t have to be in this country, and there is a travel bursary available. I’m thinking, if they’ll take me, somewhere in Iceland… It’ll be February, so possibly a mad idea, but I know they do loads of indoor year-round growing with artificial lights, that’s kind of why I’m interested.

Anyway, happy Moanday all!

One day this week I have to drive out to the vet to pick up more heart worm and flea treatment for Ripple and Adam. I also have to make appointments for their shots and to get Ripple snipped.

I got an invite to a bridal shower for my cousin’s daughter. It’s about a 2 hour drive each way. I hardly know the bride to be, but I do like my cousin a lot even though she moved out of state and I don’t see her often.
It would be nice to see the family, but a lot of driving.

I don’t know yet what I’ll do and I’m realy too tired and grumpy to think about it anyway.

I hesitate to mention when I sleep well, because it seems to jinx the whole process and I end up tossing and turning… So I’ll just say that I’m here and awake.

Daughter, SIL and RoxStar got to Lancaster safely, and it was a good thing we were prepared for her to use my debit card. We made a copy of my license, her license, and the card all on one page, and I wrote a note saying she had my permission to use the card. If they’d had an issue, I’d have given them my credit card # over the phone, but it’s all good. Her class starts in an hour or so and they’ll be home Thursday night.

**Nut **- Iceland would be fascinating!! I’m sure you know they grow bananas there in a geothermally heated facility. I just had 2 days visiting there, but I loved it! The island, I mean, not the banana place.

And thus beginneth my day. Happy Moanday!

Nut, I’ve never been, but I have also heard from friends who have gone that Iceland is a very cool place (sorry about that). But February? Might be a wee bit nippy…

Sari, maybe the snippage will calm Ripple down and he’ll be less of a brat…maybe. And thanks for the suggestions, I’m using the Sherwin Williams site (Paint Colors by Family - Sherwin-Williams) to find one…never knew there were so many shades of green…

Just looked at the Doppler Radar on the NWS site, and looks like rain at the Miss.-Alabama border is sighting in on us, so rain may be my future. Ceaning the kitchen is also on the agenda–we’ll see.

I didn’t sleep well, either, last night. Romeo Jr. kept waking up crying, I’d console him, then he’d go back to sleep just long enough for me to fall asleep, then wake up again. I realized at about 2 am that he needed to poop a hard-as-rocks poop and it was hurting his tiny butt. I changed him and got him back to sleep.

Then Romeo decided that 5 am is a great time to load the dishwasher, complete with dropping dishes and clanging silverware. Seriously.

Not to mention that my hypomania has subsided and I’m crashing hard. I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep for 12 hours, cry for a while, and sleep some more. Alas, I shall soldier on, make it through work, mom it up this evening, and cry for a while before bed.

{{{Midget}}} I hear you.

Metalmouse, my kitchen is light pink. The upstairs bath is aqua and the powder room is grape green. Go with light yellow for the kitchen. Gold will never look gold, it will look 1970s.

This week is dedicated to our fantastic and loyal customers; yes there is a hint of sarcasm in that statement. Saturday is a rollercoaster event at Kennywood and next Friday is the family picnic at Knoebels. Start watching the Daily Item and Danville Press Enterprise for mentions of “unknown actor or actors” starting Thursday the 26th.

The problem with swatches is the color can look good in a small amount and then turn ugly in a big space. I like 6743 Mint Condition and 6744 Reclining Green.

We got a box from the jungle this morning and Ripple went berserk. He thinks there’s something in it for him. Not this time, new slippers for me and some biscuit cutters.

I agree with FCM and I’m not going to talk about how I slept . I’m washing a load of towels and enjoying the quiet, my husband is at work and my daughter stayed over at a friend’s last night. Both of the dogs are napping now, they were little pips this morning! Enjoy the day!

I worked 20 minutes into my lunch break before I noticed! How’s that for professional dedication!

With luck, the afternoon will go as fast.

I heard that Miss America did away with the bathing suit & evening gown competitions, but just how fat is Miss Alabama that she has a ‘border’?

Silly, silly, Sari. Ripple knows he’ll get tossed a fresh, warm biscuit to stop chewing on his new chew toy slippers. :stuck_out_tongue:
Fri went to bed around 11ish & the alarm was set for 3:30am Sat.
Sat PM/Sum AM (12:30am) we called someone who couldn’t make the party due to irk. He said he was driving home in heavy rain. I looked up & saw lots of stars in the sky. Went to bed around 1am & woke up a little after 4am to walk down the hall. Laid down again for a few mins but didn’t go back to sleep as the alarm was set for 4:30. Got up, drove over to the beach for sunrise shots to find clouds had covered the area in the past few hrs; East Coast sunrise was a bust. :frowning:
Last night I got home just as the news was coming on. Turned on the TV as I threw my bags on the bed to unpack them. 4 hrs later I awoke only long enough to turn off the TV & light & the bag was unpacked this moaning. Other stuff still needs to be unloaded/put away/downloaded/charged at some point. Not poor sleeping so much as a lack of it.

Party was good except for a few uninvited guests. First L got stung, then I did a few times & I definitely saw them when we were pulling up anchor.

What happens if you put peanut butter on a jellyfish?

Well, I’m back at work for a 3-day, 10 hour a day work week for this week and next week. Last week was two days and the week before one day. I’m slowly working my way back up to five. LOL

I stayed over at my dad’s house last night. I’m still there. I got my lappy set up. And I feel sort of alive since I got more than a few hours’ sleep. And now back to work.

Humid; terribly so. It may make work actually nicer than the drive to work.

I have spiffed da cave and then went out to the cee-mint pond for a bit. Now I chill until time to head over to the church house.

MetalMouse whatever colors you choose, I suggest you go with the Sherman Williams Emerald Paint. A sight expensive but it looks so good and is durable.
