Another sleepless MMP

Insomnia is a very bad thing.

DH is all restless, I’m having trouble settling down, and for bonus points I nearly had heart failure on realizing that an assignment was due at 9pm Sunday. I realized this at about 1:30am Monday.

Took me a few minutes to remember “oh yeah, I turned that in LAST Sunday, a week early”.

I have three midterms this week, having to make special arrangements for one due to two of them being scheduled for the same day and time, on campuses miles apart.

Hijack away, gang.

First! W00T!

Up and caffeinated. Off to work in a bit.

Good luck with the tests, Nettie!

My! Aren’t we up early this fine Monday?

P. S. ChaoticBear, both you and the puppeh are Q-Ts

Not so much insomnia here as a cat who kept trying to get into our room all night. Turns out he was thirsty and he wanted to get to the sink. I kinda, sorta forgot to refill their water bowl. ooops. :frowning:

Dr and dental today for the household. We both have cleaning appointments - his at 9, mine at 11:40, then at 1:45, he has a pre-surgery appointment to get a general once-over. Surgery is next Tuesday, assuming they don’t find anything bizarro today - that is, more bizarro than he is usually.

So I’ll start my day with some laundry, get dressed properly around 11, and head to Leonardtown. When I return all clean-toothed, I’ll attack the back yard with a rake and a wagon, getting up wet leaves and way too many sticks. We’re expecting rain tonight and tomorrow, so at the very least, I want the leaves off the “grass” (such as it is.) If I don’t get all the sticks, I can finish later this week.

It’s Captain Chaos!!! OK, I stole that from South Park, and a nickname probably shouldn’t be longer than the original name, but, well, ask me if I care! (And don’t give me crap if I forgot his original nickname - I’m old and my brain is betraying me.)

Happy Moanday, one and all!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 67 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 78 for the day and rainy. On the plus side maybe it will wash away some of the pollen. On the minus side, 'tis rainy and da bear gets to drive over to the west forty first thing. ICK!

Nettie good luck on the tests. I remember those days. I sometimes still cringe in fear.

{{{donkeybear!!!}}} ::tacklehug:: LTNS! Great pic of doggie and you! How you doin’?

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. At least I can be a bit leisurely about it as I shall leave from da cave to trek west this mornin’.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

OK, fine, I did forget his original nickname. So sue me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just for that, I’ll share something disgusting. A long time back, Taz had decided that the recliner was a perfect place to pee, and it took several weeks and lots of Nature’s Miracle to de-stinkify it. Lately, tho, when I was reclining, I kept smelling cat pee, but when I got my face right next to the various surfaces of the recliner, I got nothing. And Taz would sleep on the reclined - I’m pretty sure cats don’t like to sleep in pee.

Well, last night, the light bulb went on when, interestingly enough, I was turning the light off. He furry majesty was peeing on the throw pillows that were on the floor behind the recliner, so when I leaned back, the stink wafted up from the floor. Stoopit cat! I’ve soaked both pillows in Nature’s Miracle and they’re in a plastic bag till I can toss them in the washer and hang them out.

Thus endeth the mystery of the cat pee.

Blurf/0.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate it when I dream of insomnia? It happened again last night, and my tailfeathers were dragging before I ever left the Lair.

Actually, part insomnia, and the rest about a volcano under the house I grew up in. I really do need to quit dropping acid.

Happy Moonday!

It’s gonna rain.
I need an extension cord for the lawnmower.

I got up twice last night, this is getting old.
I need some sleep.

Today is the day I check over my taxes one last time, print them out, write the check and mail them.
Joy and happiness there.

Otherwise SSDD

It helps one sleep.

I was going to say (yesterday) welcome back, stranger. The problem is that Mumpers usually read it as “welcome back stranger” and this place gets weird enough as it is!

**kopek **- it’s not weird here. It’s quirky… eccentric… bat-crap crazy…

Lots of wet clothes that I hope will dry out there - they’ll do better if the sun would burn thru the clouds, dagnabbit. And I finally got the cat box scooped, no thanks to Taz who decided he had to pee right about the time I started scooping. Idiot.

In about an hour, I need to don respectable duds and venture forth. If I time it right, I can pick up my check and cash it on the way to the dentist. We’ll see how that goes. Meanwhile, I have time to kill.

**BBBobbio **- have you been hearing the thunder-like boomings around here? There was nothing on the news, so we’re apparently not being bombed. I looked in the local forum but no mention there. Normally, I assume it’s training or testing at one of the bases, but it was going on last night after dark. Who blows stuff up on Sunday night??

The only booming I hear (over the jet noise) comes from the gun range over by your old office.

I don’t know what we were hearing last night, but it seems to have started up again. Oh well, guess it’s not important.

Howdy All! Sneaking in a post and reading from Irk! It is kinda quiet here today and the printer is working well so surely something bad will happen soon.

Why couldn’t my family have been one with money?

+1 Butters

This working for a living nonsense really cuts into my quality reading time.

<meekly raises hand>

Well, in my defense, I do work every weekday now.

‘Tis icky and dreary out but warm. I’ll take that over icky, dreary, and cold any day. Irk is not bein’ too irky so I take that as a win.

I’d rather have icky, dreary and cold than icky, dreary and warm but I’m weird. Had pizza for lunch and while it was delish, I’m not used to it so my tummy is blurfy/barfy.

nice and sunny here, and the Mets are playing their home opener

To my relief, some assignment due dates got moved, which gives me a little breathing room. Still a PITA week, though.

Some good news: DH had a temp gig today, might have more work later in the week. Sure, it means I’m taking the bus to work several days, which forces me to get up earlier, but we need the money.
