It’s not racist to say that the White middle class is leaving Cali. It’s a fact, and I’ll get you a cite before long.

But one thing I do agree with DPWhite on, is that Lundgren ran a horrible campaign. He lost the 2nd amendment vote when he caved in to the gun grabbers and classified more semi-auto rifles as “assault weapons”. He lost the vote of California natives when he refused to go condemn illegals aliens swarming in. If he had not caved on so many issues, the election would have been much,much closer. Kind of reminds me of Fong got waxed by a weak Boxer a few years ago. Matt Fong could have, should have beat Boxer, but he kept backpedaling from his positions.

BTW, DPWhite, with a 20 billion dollar shortfall in the budget, you know damn well Democrats are going to raise taxes next year. In fact, I’ll bookmark this page, just so I can remind you next year when it happens.

But don’t look for him to start requiring teachers at the government schools to pay state income taxes. Remember when he exempted teachers at the government schools from paying state taxes, as a reward to the teachers union which got him elected?

Davis also is on record as supporting drivers licences for illegal aliens.

OK, can someone give me a primer on why

Insurance companies also overcharged and/or defrauded minority policyholders.

The state of California is investigating those fraudulent practices.

Any reparations made as a result of those fraudulent practices would be donated to charity.

The businesses being investigated and that might have to make such reparations are privately-owned businesses.

I notice, though, that you only reiterate the benign half of what you said in full, to wit: that the White middle class is leaving California because of the “Mexican invasion” as opposed to, oh, I don’t know, what could it possibly be? the total collapse of the dot-com bubble and its millions of jobs, perhaps, or maybe even the hysteria over the artificially inflated power shortage (courtesy in part of a certain Texas energy consortium that paid for a significant portion of W’s failed presidential campaign)?

You know, something that actually happened in the history of the real world that we live in, as opposed to some pinheaded racist idiocy about “the Mexicans are coming (only this time their papers are in order)”.

As a white man in Los Angeles, I can report, without reservation, that there are many, many white people still here. And many, many of us plan to stay here. And more coming in every day. Y’know, every time I see George Bush on the tube, or in the paper, the caption says ‘President Bush’. To paraphrase DPWhite, this is the sort of character assassination that the left wing loves.

No fucking wonder our political system is going to hell in a handbasket. Partisan politics is nothing more than a goddamned hypocrisy contest, and the outcome is inevitable: the career politicians win (yet another term in office, and all the ass-kissing they can stand), the citizens lose (all objectivity and all respect for their neighbors with opposing views).

A couple of questions (and comments) to the OP:

From where are the funds for these ‘reparations’ to come? Taxpayer funds? My great-grandparents were immigrants who worked their asses off to make a living. They never owned the first fucking slave. Am I to be held accountable for the sins of someone else’s ancestors? In my small town, there are descendants of slave-holders. They have ‘old money’, and nicer houses and cars than I have. Are ours ‘debts’ equal? It’ll take another 50,000 government (taxpayer-salaried) employees and 10,000 new pages of tax-code to sort it all out. Not that that’ll be a problem to aforementioned career politicians…

And to what ‘charitable organizations’ will these funds be paid? All those right-wing African- American organizations that support the Republican Party will get a cut too, right? :wink wink nudge nudge: Face it folks, this is very thinly veiled pandering. It is widely held belief that the large majority of African-Americans vote straight-ticket Democrat. Shit, you think the Democrats stuck Enron up the GOP’s ass? Those same Democrats are begging for a knee-capping on this one. We’ll never hear the end of it from the GOP and its supporters. Hell, we’ll be lucky if it doesn’t start another fucking Civil War.

Davis is NOT a loon. He’s crazy like a fox. He doesn’t give a happy damn whether this shit flies or not, he cares about being reelected. Period. All he has to do is throw it up in the air. If it gets shot down, he’ll blame the mean old Republicans. Either way, he wins brownie points from the black community. Ain’t politics fun, boys and girls?
