The link above is to a screen shot of the headline. I offer that because I have no interest in driving traffic to FOX’s website. However, in case you think it is a Photoshop* job here is the link to the actual article on FOX.
But wait! It gets better!
The article was not written by FOX staff. Instead they are reprinting part of the article titled Bill Clinton scorches GOP field on climate change posted at Politico. They just changed the headline.
I would expect such crap from the likes of World News Daily or Matt Drudge but as partisan as FOX is I would not expect this even from them. I sorta hoped there was still some teeny bit of journalistic integrity at a national news organization.
I’m not surprised. These fuckers would run a headline that read “Obama sleeping with black chick,” if they thought they could get some mileage out of it.
That’s a really good example of media bias. In fact, it’s so good it’s almost a parody of itself.
The headline is, of course, completely true. Clinton was impeached. And he did say, in effect, that global warming deniers embarrass America.
But since there’s essentially zero relevance to the fact that he was impeached, the editiorial choice to include that line can only be an effort to invite the reader to question or dismiss Clinton’s commentary, for reasons having no relation to the merits of his commentary.
Oh please; typical libtard overreaction. Do you get into the same sorts of tiffs when your precious Jon Stewart uses a punnish or contorted-for-humor headline when announcing a story? Of course not. Don’t you see? Look at the URL (which, I noticed, the OP sneakily tried to bury in his post). It’s not Fox News, it’s actually Fox Nation. If you’re too quick to condem Fox news, a hard, fast, and santorum-filled news network for something posted on nation.foxnews, a fair and balanced opinion and commentary outlet, than you have no integrity whatsoever. The point has been made over and over. Some commentators on Fox have right-wing viewpoints (and some, such as the Simpsons, have left-wing views, but you don’t hear the left admitting that, do you?). But Fox maintains a Chinese wall between the two–they have nothing to do with each other.
This post actually written by nation.Rhythmdvl.SDMB
Is this a joke? I really can’t tell. Poe’s Law applies here.
Jon Stewart hosts a comedy show on Comedy Central. The Simpsons is a comedy show. I’m surprised you didn’t include The Onion in your list. That you seem unable to discern the important differences there says a lot about you and none of it good.
As for Chinese Walls and having “nothing to do with each other” the site I linked to has the FOX logo large and clear in the upper left, it has links to FOX News, FOX Business, FOX News Radio, FOX News Latino and FOX News Insider across the top.
Poe’s Law shmoes law. What another knee-jerk, Ayer’s-like response; attack the messenger with irrelevancies and ad hominims. You should be able to tell from the seventy-second word just how serious I was (unless your socialist-inspired publiK education doesn’t allow you to count that high).
Yeah, Nation appears to be incredibly sensationalist. I don’t know if it’s volunteer-run or if Fox actually controls it, but they love to repost news stories and give them outrageously misleading headlines.
As harmful as I think Fox in general is, it’s been pretty much a given the last few months that if someone gets riled over an objectionable headline, it’s going to be from Nation, not Fox News itself.
I seem to recall plenty of news articles years and even decades after the fact referring to “Disgraced former president Richard Nixon.” I’d bet none of you guys see any editorial problem with that.
