It’s cold outside, 29 feels like 25.
We didn’t go to the park, Cerby is limping and I’m making him take a day of rest.
He’s been running a lot at the park, chasing the laser light. I think we have overdone it a bit.
At some point he got on the bed last night. He woke me up because he was breathing on my feet and it tickled my toes
We gave him an extra trazodone this morning, hopefully it’ll knock him out and he’ll stay quiet.
It hasn’t.
I feel sorry for him, his eyes light up and he gets a big smile because he thinks we are going to the park. It may not seem like a big deal, but it’s recent that he gets that look. He’s becoming a happy dog.
I don’t know what I’ll do if he is still limping tomorrow. I don’t want to send him to daycare that way, but I don’t want him here when the roofer comes.
I think I’m going to reschedule the roofer.
And I did, after it took me a while to figure out which company, because I didn’t write it down.
Just got a call from my son’s grandfather.
He was a bit panicky, telling me (my son’s name) just called him because he was just in a car accident, has a busted lip and a broken nose, and was in jail because he refused the breathalyzer. He needed bail money, $4500, right away to get him out.
After he talked himself out, I asked who he was talking about, and he said my son.
I said no, my son is in bed sound asleep, and he says, can you check?
Well, okie dokie, I think I know where my son is, but ok, I’ll check.
I woke my son up to talk with him, his grandfather now realizes it is a scam.
He said he was going to call the scammers back; I would just ignore them.
Why he thinks my son would call him in an emergency? I have no clue.
So that was our excitement for today.
I made spiral ham yesterday.
It was no surprise to have Ripple on one side and Echo on the other while I was eating. The surprise was Adam pushing himself up front and center and demanding some. It was a bit salty, but that didn’t faze him at all.
We feel like that about Buddy at times. He does have some serious jerk tendencies at times, he can also be a really great cat. At least one of his other humans agrees he can be pretty obnoxious at times (especially the godawful o’clock demands for door opening service). We still love him.
I’m 200 miles from there. Didn’t even notice.
As far as that voicemail, check with your cell carrier. Seems to me like there’s some way to copy the recording to someplace that shouldn’t get erased, but I don’t personally know how. They would.
Note to self: skip buying any Chex cereal for a bit. There’s some Mumper-related panic buyin’ a-foot, and I don’t wanna set off anything like the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of The Whatever-the-fuck-year-it-was.
I swear, since the world ended, I can barely keep track of the day, or the date. The year? Pfft. It’s { handwaves } idunno, now-ish.
A lot of people are out of the office this week, which means work is relatively quiet…which you’d think would be welcome, but it makes the days go by soooo sloooowly. Of course, I could/should work on my year-end performance review self-evaluation.
NAH.
That’s terrific!
Oooo, so do I! Thanks for the reminder! I have therapy on Thursday morning, and afterwards I have to go straight to the office to do some editing for a while: because I’ll be out of the house most of the day I’m planning to take the doggy to daycare, and I need to remember to build in an extra 15 minutes to stop for gas on the way there.
When you said McDoogles, Pearl I was pretty sure you didn’t mean the one a bit over from the armpit,
which I see they have changed their name to the more appropriate McDoogals.
I hope all goes okay with FIL, FCM
GG is a lovely cat.
I don’t know what Adam would do with a tree. He’s not much on climbing and jumping, his ass is too fat.
I like rye chips, I don’t like chex of any flavor.
Chex mix doesn’t excite me at all.
Looks like FIL is to be admitted. I took some food to FCD and his mom - they hadn’t eaten since breakfast. I’m home now, about to feed myself before tidying the guest room so MIL can sleep there.
Daughter took Tobias for a haircut - he looks a lot tidier now!
My family left my sister and me. Niece and her family moved to Washington state a few years ago, and my other sister and BiL moved up earlier this year (guess where their grandkid is). My brother has lived in Costa Rica for years and doesn’t come back for the holidays (usually he comes in late summer), and we’re not close to the few cousins we have in the area.
So, my sister and I decided on Spaghetti Bolognese for Christmas dinner with a Marie Callendar’s Double Cream Lemon pie for dessert. It’s just so much work to make a huge dinner for only two people.
We don’t do gifts anymore, but I almost forgot to get something sent to my great-nephew (he’s 4 1/2 now), so I got that off with a guarenteed Dec 23rd delivery. Gifts are for kids.
Well, dang FCM. If it’s not one thing, it’s half a dozen of the other.
That sort of thing just ticks me off. Scammers like that use every trick in the book to rush and frighten people. I’m glad he called you instead of panicking and giving up money.
You are so right!
Our housekeeper was here this morning. GG likes her (he likes everyone) and got so excited when she rang the bell that he tried to jump on the coffee table so she could scratch him. He did actually land on the coffee table, but was going too fast and slid off the other side. He totally meant to do that.
