It's the MMP for the (Hockey) Season

DON’T TOUCH HIS SPOUT! DON’T TOUCH HIS SPOUT!:wink:

I’m planning on wall to wall hockey today.

Don’t get me all steamed up either.

flytrap I took a shot at the story.

Still sad over the fact that someone I like has lost his father, and now I learn an old friend of my family has died. Life is sad when it’s so full of loss.

Denny’s sucks. At least the one in Waldork does. Slow service, meh food, servers you can never find. Never again. What really pisses me off is there’s a new diner right around the corner from Denny’s that I forgot about. We could have tried them this morning. Oh well…

We went to Home Despot and got the last of the edgers we need to finish off the paver project, which we’ll do when the rain stops. Then we got daughter’s Christmas crap out of the garage attic, along with 4 big plastic bags of stuff. After going thru the bags while on the phone with her, I whittled her stuff down to less than a full bag. There are 2 grocery bags of beanie babies that I’d like to sell for her. I think $30 for 25 is a fair price. There are also some afghans that I’d like to donate to AARP if they’ll have them. Otherwise, they, and the rest of the stuff, will be donated to a local thrift store.

Meanwhile, it’s still raining and chilly. What a dreary day!

Trying to get my alleged brain booted for irk. Saturday closing shift in a thrift store, management was muttering yesterday about some sale today (which always creates a total feeding frenzy). At least lunch is catered today (periodic reward for no one doing anything seriously stupid and getting hurt).

Nettie I frequently celebrate no one doing anything seriously stupid or getting hurt day.

The bookcase is now returned to my bedroom. The pile of junk (the stuff that used to live on top of or under the bookcase, plus a bunch of that stuff’s friends that showed up) is gorn, and my bedroom almost looks like a bedroom again!

I had a very large glass of homebrew to celebrate finally having a bedroom again, and… with brilliant timing, the boss texted me. Someone’s not shown up for a shift, can I go and cover- NOW!?
Umm… No. Not after a very large glass of unknown strength (but pretty strong) booze.

Bleedin’ typical, that’s probably going to be the only irk I’ll be offered all week, and I had to turn it down. Oh well, it was only a few hours at the really low rate.

I’m feeling a bit over organised- I bought the makin’s of the first Christmas present yesterday. The bro’s just got a flat, and I though some nice homemade chutney and damson gin in quality resealable glass jars might be nice, and they both take a while to mature. I dunno though, I’ve not made a present for my brother since I was about 5… It feels a bit odd. Like giving him a card with a handprint on.

I baked a cake - spice cake with butterscotch pudding, frosted with cream cheese frosting. Yum. And I made some deviled eggs because I had a dozen eggs I needed to boil up and use. Also yum. There are actually 5 eggs left - they’re going to become egg salad. Yum again.

How domestical is that??

MOOOOOOM cake and deviled aigs? Well, ain’t you just the domesticated Goddess today!

I’m going to be doing a lot of baking soon. Hope it’s well-received.

Not only that, **swampy **- I emptied the dishwasher, too!!

Well, give you a string of pearls and call you June Cleaver! :stuck_out_tongue:

And a fine job, thank you.

I’m sure that it will. Do please send mine by airmail.

You are most welcome, sir.

The General’s dindin has been consumed. Life is good.

Don’t worry, that’s not my, ahem, cup of tea.
Swedish food for dinner…

Ikea

Spidey did you have Swedish meatballs and lingonberry pie? No Ikea around these parts, but I have been to Ikea and had Swedish meatballs and lingonberry pie, cause, well, who can resist meatballs and pie?

Anyone have the next mmp? If not I’ll take it.

So we are at my mothers.
The dog is happy, the son is happy, my mother and her bf are happy. They didn’t even get upset that I was parked in the driveway - they were out when we got here.
