Itunes: Making a Podcast into a Music Video

I have a free podcast that’s essentially a music video in my Itunes podcast menu. I wanted to just reclassify it as a music video, but when I go to the the “options” tab, the media type is greyed out. Is there anything I can do?

After doing a bit of reading in various places, it seems that iTunes classifies particular files as podcasts based on their origin. Basically, if the file came from an RSS feed, it will get classified as a podcast.

One solution some people have suggested is to make a copy of the file (not using iTunes), and then import the new copy into iTunes. It might even be an idea to take the new file and, before importing, see if you can use some third-party tagging software to change the tags in the file manually. (Not sure if you’re actually on a Mac or a PC.)

This seems to have been a problem for quite a few people, and there is some frustration that the iTunes designers have made it virtually impossible for a user to decide how to label his or her own music.

Hm. Now something odd seems to be happening. I can’t get the file, even as a podcast, to sync to my Ipod. I now notice that certain video podcasts don’t sync, and I can’t figure out what it is that blocks them.
