So, I’m still waiting on the results of independent studies here. Every week, I have to stop myself from doing my own research on whether or not Klondike mint chocolate chip bars contain chocolate chips. What’s the consensus, people?

I’m not sure how the misspelling in the title lasted so long, but it’s fixed now.
Um…..Thank you?
I haven’t bought any more since my post, but I did find a post on the subject on Reddit, supposedly posted by someone who had worked at (one of?) their factories. According to him, yes, they are supposed to. What happens is that the machine that feeds the ice cream into the molds is started first and then almost immediately a separate feed is started that injects the chips into the ice cream mix is turned on. Which means that for a few seconds there aren’t any, and then an insufficient number, of chips in the bars produced first. A certain number of packages are set aside as ‘wastage’ to offset this. Apparently sometimes not enough if the second feed was started later than usual and then they’d occasionally get complaints which were, indeed, responded to with apologies and coupons.
This was from a summer job the guy worked about a decade earlier, so things might have changed.
BTW, apparently the ‘wastage’ went into certain designated freezers for a while and the employees were allowed to take what the wanted.
The wife bought a box of mint chip ice cream sandwiches and one of them didn’t have any chocolate chips. So far the rest of the box has had chips.
Don’t they always come in boxes of six?
Where there’s a will, and ice cream, there’s a way.
thank you for bumping this.
i have eaten all 12 klondike bars (they were a 2 for). there were no chips in any of them. i did find as you break the enrobing chocolate, it will splinter into the ice cream. i believe that is what is pictured on the tray package.
the bars do not contain chips. mint ice cream enrobed in chocolate.

Recalling this thread, they were on sale yest. at Meijer’s, so decided to spring for a 6 pack.
First one I opened had no chips either. I’ll see about the others but plan to do just 1 every two days.

He makes a fortune winning these cases. He wouldn’t be famous if he didn’t win, would he?
Hijack. I can think of someOne who is famous for losing court cases.
