I recently posted a rather innocent message to this thread:

wherein I described the differences between SOHOification and gentrification, and my own experiences in getting evicted from a gentrifying neighborhood, and how it became a major motion picture (no kidding!)… The worst thing I said in the msg was I called my former landlords a nasty non-obscene word. And now that message is nowhere to be found.
I understand that there was some banishment and other msg nuking activity possibly associated with this thread, was my message nuked by accident too? Or was my message nuked deliberately? What happened? If I crossed the line somewhere, I’d rather hear about it so I can avoid that behavior rather than just sit here puzzling over what happened.
I don’t recall anything about deleting any messages in that thread. I would have sent you am email telling you why if I deleted your message for vilation of some rule. The only think I can think it that it got eaten by the message board, or I deleted it by accident when cleaning up double-posts or something. If I did delete your message by accident, I’m sorry about that. :o
hmm… I don’t know if this is a general rule. I know that when I was a newbie on SDMB, I posted a reply to someone who asked how to get into conferences free, and that message got zapped without any further mention. I understand why that msg was zapped.
Anyway, I’ll just ascribe this to a glitch and leave it at that, unless another mod wants to come forward and claim credit.
I did a search for all your recent posts thinking it was possibly placed in an incorrect thread. No dice. It was apparently either swallowed whole, or attributed to someone else. I’ve seen that happen once or twice; a post mistakenly attached to the wrong user name.
Yeah, I checked that too, in that message I used a distinctive term with a distinctive spelling that was unlikely to appear in any other thread, “SOHOification,” and it didn’t turn up in any search.
Oh well…
A lot of stuff here doesn’t turn up in the searches. It’s a moody search box, sometimes you get it sometimes you don’t.
