There was a song in the 90’s(?) I think that had Mrs. Fletcher’s (the lady on the floor) voice in their song but for the life of me I can’t find a reference to it (my wife doesn’t believe me). Anyone know what song this was and who sang it? (I think it might have been a dance mix but I’m not sure, if it was rock I’d remember).
Can’t tell you about the song but I did at first think you had genuinely fallen and couldn’t get up, were near a computer but not a phone and was planning to contact your local emergency services for you.
So I am VERY glad that’s not the case. I can imagine a bit of “and is this person a relative? Why are you calling from Scotland about this fallen person?..” “Well, you see, there’s this message board…”
I definitely remember it and would place it at either 1991 or 1990, though I also do not remember the song’s name.
Does a Google search for lyrics “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” come up with anything familiar?
I did once hear someone mashed “I can’t get up” with James Brown singing “Get on up” to very comic effect.
2Intense: I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up (remix)?
Student Driver definitely has it. I think I heard it played once on my local top 40 station. It got made because those commercials were run constantly in the early 90s. Being a joke/novelty song it was just referred to as the ‘LifeAlertl Remix’ or something. I don’t ever remember seeing the video anywhere.
