Back in June, I totalled out my van. Failure to yeild.
I am going to fight the ticket and tomorrow is my big day.
**This is what I would like from all the dopers [sub]dammit[/sub] **
At 10a, please send positive thoughts to the officer who issued the ticket so that either he is suddenly feeling benevolent and doesn’t show, or to the judge to pity this poor girl and drop the points and ticket.
Or just give me the mental wherewithall to pay attention during all of it because God knows during " People’s Court" “Court TV” , “Divorce Court” ad nauseum, I just flip the channel. ( why, yes I am a space case, …oh look at the dog with the fluffy white tail!)
[sub]Do you think the judge would be annoyed if I aimed my remote at him and hit mute? [/sub]
Wish me luck!
Was it you that failed to yield, or someone else? If it was you, why are you fighting the ticket?
You’re dating a judge? How wonderful! They can help you a lot, like with traffic tickets.
It’s not like that, you say? 10AM? Which time zone?
Hah! Dropzone, you are a card!
10a, est.
Nineiron, I failed to yeild, but I had a hell of a lousy day that day. My brother nearly died. If he had, it would have been the second brother to pass on in less than six months.
I was slightly preoccupied, to say the least.
Sorry to hear about your brothers…
However, if the accident was your fault, and you admit it was your fault, I’m not sure what kind of luck you’re going to have fighting it.
nineiron, are you channeling my mother and eeyore at the same time?
Well, for those that are interested, my ticket was dismissed because the officer called and said he wasn’t going to appear.
So, this naturally lead me to practically do the happy dance before da judge ( magistrate, actually.)
So, for all the happy thoughts [sub]yeah , right [/sub] I would like to thank you all berry berry much.
Well, I’m glad it worked out for you, as you said you had had some family problems going on.
(This is despite the fact that I don’t think people who are guilty of breaking a law and who could’ve possibly caused a serious injury to others should be fighting tickets.)
It really is amazing how often fighting a ticket will result in a victory for the party involved, as the officer will often not be able to (or choose not to) make the court date.
Ha ha, bring flowers, go light on the pick up lines, don’t honk the horn outside the courthouse, go up and knock.
lol…
