When Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix arrives 07/11, I will be seeing it in wonderful IMAX format at midnight. Tickets were about double than a “regular” movie theater, but the ending is in 3D.

Yep, although we’re seeing it on Thursday night (at the IMAX). With the price of regular movies around here, it’s only a couple bucks more per ticket, too.

I’ll admit up front that I’m not a fan of the novels or the movies, but are you saying that the movie’s coming out at the same time as the book? Have they always done this with HP? Isn’t it usually book first, and then movie a year later? I’m confused. Is the book out already?
Nope. Movie #5 (Order Of The Phoenix) is coming out in July, Book #7 (Deathly Hallows) is coming out a week later. This is, IIRC, the first time a movie has come out so close to the release of another book in the series.
We are going to be out in Vegas the weekend that the movie comes out. Hoping (plotting) to buy tickets for the Palms IMAX as soon as they become available. Checking every day.
