Tonight, in Topeka, Kansas I saw a production of The Mikado. As always, my favorite song is the one KoKo sings, the one in the thread title.
It’ traditional for this number to be “localized” or “updated” and there were amusing entries to the list about folks who leave their cell phones on in the movies, or hold up lines looking for money in the store.
But the absolute best, one that got a cheer from the audience(remember where I said I saw the show) was the item on the list including “those who walk Topeka streets with signs and hate insist, they never will be missed!”
Given that Phred Phelps and Co. live here, that was an addition that is particularly apt!
