I've got a song identification question

Lo these many moons ago when I actually went to the gym once in a while, one of the TVs was usually on a music channel like CMT or VH1. I never bothered to bring in a radio and headphones to listen to the music but I always liked watching the videos. One video that I particularly loved was about (presumably) a guy mourning his girlfriend breaking up with him. (I’m assuming because it’s been a long time and I can’t remember the closed captions or the song title or artist, all I have is my memory of the video.)
Anyway, she’s getting dressed and picking up her keys and leaving the house all distraught and he’s following behind her plaintively singing his song, trying to get her to notice him. As she’s leaving she knocks a glass of milk off the table and steps in the puddle leaving milky footprints. He follows her all the way to an intersection where there’s been a car accident and then the camera cuts back to the milk and we see her walk through it and leave foot prints. He walks through it and leaves none, the implication being that, in fact, he died in a car accident and her crying is not from breaking up but from his death. At any rate, it made an impression on me when I was in high school and I’d like to see it again if anyone recognizes it.

I know this is not the one but similar-Darryl Worley- I Miss My Friend

Oh man, runner, I’m gonna wake up everyone in the house with my sniffling. That was a very pretty song, although you are right, it is not the one I am looking for. (Still, it’s getting favorited. Gonna bust that sucker out some night when everyone’s getting maudlin and tipsy and we’ll have ourselves a nice cry.)

Someday by Nickelback

Sweet, thanks!

(I note that my memory was incorrect in several places, which is a pity. The actual music video is a lot less interesting than my memory of it.)
