I've got me a live journal!

You can also mark entries “public” “private” or “friends only” to determine the security level of each entry. If you haven’t already downloaded the livejournal client, I highly recommend it. I never update through the web interface.

Bit of useless trivia
Ender is user #481953 and he has 5 entries
I am user #4799 and I have 2,904 entries.

At one point I helped Brad reorganize the layout of the LJ page. This was shortly after the site had started and the original look was just sort of thrown together. So was my solution, which only took me about an hour, but what it did do was move most of the links to the side, and put the whole thing on a notebook-looking page. The site has since undergone several changes, but you can still use any of those schemes. here is how

I was also the culprit responsible for the color selections they give you when you add friends through the web interface.

Oh, and I’m pretty enthusiastic about livejournal! Or could you tell?

DOH! I almost forgot. If anyone needs a code, drop me an email.

Now that you’ve got a livejournal, why not join the SDMB LiveJournal community?

http://www.livejournal.com/community/sdmb

I’ve thought about getting a LJ, mainly so I could comment to other people’s pages without being rudely anonymous. But I do like the idea of joining the LJ community (I’m such a sheep). I doubt my posts would be half as exciting or revealing as some I’ve read (anyone remember The Frightened Family? Ahhhhh!)

What to do … what to do …

Well for heaven’s sake, nothing about your live journal has to be interesting! Just ask anyone who has read mine.

This is my cycle:

Entry 1: Some story that only I find amusing about my lousy mothering

Entry 2: Yet another complaint about work

Entry 3: More than you ever wanted to know about our home refinancing

Entry 4: Dissertation angst

Start over at Entry 1. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Wonder why you don’t get many comments, and why no one adds you as a friend.

Bah. Mine is much, much, much worse. I’d be surprised if my friends actually read it. I think they are my friends because they are polite.

I am reasonably certain that nobody actually reads my livejournal. Which is, on reflection, probably a good thing.

Cranky is right. nothing about your live journal has to be interesting!

Incoherent rambling is the norm.

You can find mine here.

hi i’d like to create a live journal as well, can anyone send me the codes too pretty please

You can contact Opal at: opalcat@fathom.org

thankyou

Actually, I read some of the Live Journals (just finished jay jay’s). They’re pretty interesting - the odd thing about them is that afterward I feel like I know the person. They, however, don’t know me at all. Sort of a one-way mirror effect.

However, those of you who think you aren’t making stuff public… well, think again. I might have to get one myself now.

Yeah … don’t you just hate it when you add someone onto your friends list and they don’t add you back!

hint hint …

Yeppers. . .

Started me one too today . . .

Disclaimer: There’s just one simple post there. Nothing special.

You say that like it’s a bad thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW, I’ve added you. Don’t forget to check out the SDMB community

And Cranky - you are one of my absolute favorites on LiveJournal!

Here is my journal:

Attention Ho! Attention Ho!

Damnit people. This is about me. ME ME ME! Fucking me! Thia ain’t your thread to advertise. I’m the attention whore you whore wannabees. I’ll out whore you all. I’m out of control. I’ll do what I want! You can’t stop me! Nuh uh! Talk to the cyber hand.

After my friends list got to over 300, I had to go in and delete out the people who I didn’t actually read… now I only add people if I’ve started reading their journals. (I know this wasn’t addressed to me, but it is probably the case for a lot of people, so don’t get your feelings hurt.)

thanks to OpalCat i have a live journal for my drivel, yay!
here it is

I added you to my friends list. It’s sad to see a journal w/o friends

Mine is here. I’m afraid it’s not very interesting though, because, well, my life isn’t very interesting :frowning:

Ender and I are in sync: I just set up a blog, and moved my old site onto a new host. You can check it out at:

Expect high levels of lameness, especially at first. I’m a lawyer by trade, so well-written, easily-understood prose is difficult for me.
