I've got Sorghum!

Just thought I’d share. I’m sitting here right now, dipping my spoon in my little jar of pure cane sorghum, and licking off the dark brown sticky sweetness that is, IMHO, what ambrosia must taste like.

My grandmother sent me home from Thanksgiving vacation with a little bottle from her country store.

I’m on such a sugar high right now, and the fact that I stick to almost everything I touch is earning me some interesting looks from my co-workers.

Now, that’s pointless. Betcha I don’t even get one reply to this thread.

Jeez, Sim, isn’t there like a salve or unguent you can take for that?

[sub]Sorry… that was my first reaction when I saw the title “I’ve got sorghum!”[/sub]

I’m replying. What did we bet? Sorry, I’m bored and felt like being an ass.

I prefer straight honey. It gets similar looks from those around you and is also very high in sugar and stickyness.

You’ll proabably get countless comments, Simetra.

As a dyed-in-the-wool, 100% redneck I’ve been a fan of sorghum since early childhood (ever try it on grits?). Problem was that I always thought it was spelled “sogum” and the first time I saw the word in print, spelled correctly, I wasn’t sure what it was. Course, after you got sticky sogum on a plate it became necessary to “warsh” it.

“I’ve got sorghum, I’ve got music. I’ve got hot grits. Who could ask for anything more?”

hmm… time to stop playing Gershwin for a while; these titles lead to strange things…

i’ll leave now…
