I've got to stop reading those articles which show crazy texts from dating apps

The idea is too long to fit into a subject title. But some entertainment-style news sources show text threads that women* receive from creepy people once they use a dating app.

God, the crazy, abusive crap that women receive, especially if they slightly delay replying to a text. It frightens and sickens me, and also makes me glad that I’m long out of the dating scene.

I’m going to make a rule not to read articles like this anymore. If you’re wondering, it’s through Buzzfeed.

*And some men, I assume.

I tell myself some of that stuff was probably fictional…

I’ve fallen down the Buzzfeed/Bored Panda rabbit holes way too many times. I get a kind of sick thrill reading ‘bad date’ stories. Some would say, oh no, that couldn’t have really happened. I would say, oh yeah?

I think BuzzFeed has an entire team dedicated to trawling through Reddit threads searching for repurposeable clickbait. I too have clicked on these articles, but I do try to resist.

I bet 99% of the lists of people relating their experiences come from reddit
