Yeah, we seem to have a lot in common.
Can we add a wee dram of single malt and some nice flaky steak & mushroom pasties?
I’ll join you!
If we’re allowed to ignore covid? Germany.
Mongolia. In January. -30 every night.
They say God delivers all things, but Satan is in charge of the timing.
One of my Bucket List trips is a 3-week trip to Greece. Half on the mainland and half island-hopping.
I was going to say Calabria in southern Italy. My grandparents were born there and I’d love to do some research on the family. I also thought southern Italy sounds like it would be warm. But it’s only 44 degrees today, raining with a chance of snow! Here it’s 21 below with the windchill. Even though 44 degrees is much warmer, it’s not warm enough! So anywhere that the temp is above 75.
Right now, in the dead of winter with 2 months of cold shitty weather to go, I’m not picky-- In the words of Jimmy Buffett:
I’ve got to fly to Saint Somewhere…I gotta go where it’s warm!

I take it you’ve been? It looks gorgeous on Youtube, though I’ve often wondered about the acoustics, what with all the. . . red rocks.
A number of times … yeah. Not to take the OP too far afield, but …

I’m unclear. Mars is off limits because there is nothing there. How about the International Space Station?
New Zealand. Been there once and didn’t see enough of the country. We spent 4 days on the North Island and 7 on the South seeing what we could. Next time we go, we plan on staying a month or so. Should get to see more then.

How about the International Space Station?
I was thinking about the West Wing episode, Impact Winter. In it, Bartlet’s body man – Curtis – has to carry Bartlet off the plane because Bartlet’s MS flared badly.
As Curtis was carrying Bartlet, Bartlet cautioned:
you drop me, that’ll follow you the rest of your life.
Similarly, be sure to get tested before your trip to the ISS. Infecting the astronauts … that’d follow you the rest of your life ![]()
I’ll take a ticket to Auckland please. I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on a 3-week trip to the North Island when the travel ban went into effect.

It’s actually a pretty nice joint and the beach and surrounding walkable area there is first rate. If you do want warm and easy, you could do a lot worse.
Ignoring Covid, Liverpool U.K.
I’m sitting here right now watching the Cavern Club live online with a beer next to me.
I’d like to be sitting in Liverpool watching the musicians at the Cavern Club playing live and drinking a pint.

(In a judge-like tone) I’ll allow it. ![]()

I had to check out some Youtube clips. Geez, anyone play there besides Phish, Dave Matthews and John Mayer? It’s a beautiful second choice to Red Rocks, though.
