The guitar is a great instrument to play, struuter. And when you get good the guitar becomes very womenly
However, the first thing I recommend you do is get a descent guitar. BTW, are you wanting to play an electric, acoustic, or classical guitar?
Get a guitar tuner too ('bout $30 bucks) unless you are really confident with tuning by ear (which can be frustrating as shit when your first starting).
From this point it depends on what you want to do. Are you just wanting to play a few tunes for fun? Or are you seriously wanting to become a guitar player, and attempt to master the instrument? (pssst, go for the ladder ;)).

Canthearya, we looked on e-bay last night too. I wish I had the funds for a really nice guitar…but I’m going to have to settle for a decent beginner’s instrument. I’ll just be happy to have one with all SIX strings…heehee…I told you it was bad.
On the numb-tingly-I-can-hardly-type-painful finger front, I did practice for an hour last night…and gulp can now play London Bridge. Thank you. Thank you very much.

This is so fun! Why didn’t anybody tell me? It’s not easy…I mean, I can hardly get a decent tone most of the time, but on those rare occaisions when I do…man, does it feel great! And I’m learning my notes…
