Nice misleading thread title. Yes, it’s a ‘social conservative’ politician with a comic strip, but it’s not Jack T. Chick running for office and Jack didn’t draw the comic. His art, even at its crudest, is much better than this. This has nothing to do with Jack Chick.
And yeah, it totally looks like Tom Anderson talking to Beavis’s mom.

I do realize that this isn’t actually Jack Chick y’know. However, the tone of the comic is the same as Chick’s work, and Rinehart seems to be exactly the type of person who believes that Chick Tracts are effective tools of prostelyzation (hence he’s copying the idea).

Why the hell is it that so many people who want good, needed, common sense government policies (reduction in taxes, government, spending, etc..) always seem to endorse that odious, repugnant, hateful philosophy that’s grossly misnamed “social conservatism”. Ugh.

The Republican lunatic establishment is a coalition between religious and economic fundamentalists. Each put their own uninformed intuition above expertise, empirical observation and tough minded analysis.
Don’t believe me? Supply-side economics - where reducing tax rates results in higher tax revenues under contemporary tax regimes - has no empirical basis. There are plenty of conservative economists, but supply-side stuff is pure crankery. Yet no Republican Presidential candidate will dare deny it.
Other anti-science economic fundamentalists call global warming a hoax - which is crackpot stuff. (This is in contrast with a global warming skeptic, who may think the issue is overemphasized and will substantiate this claim.)
Next door, religious fundamentalists deny natural selection.
And all of them make a fetish of opposing liberalism, which is another term for “Ideas and expressions that upset our sensitive dispositions.”
Traditional conservatives don’t get hysterical every time a new governmental program is introduced: rather they demand that it be subject to strict cost/benefit tests. But these conservatives have basically gone extinct, in favor of those who better cater to the modern conservative’s emotions and feelings.
The SDMB needs a Wall of Derision.™ A place where we can permanently pin up shining examples of ignorance, bigotry, hatred and idiocy for all to point and laugh. Thankfully, the comic is so bad in just about every way imaginable, no one will want to associate with it. Well, almost no one.
Wow, you can get a three-bedroom house in Union, OK for $79,500!
Get those papers ready to sign, Satan! I’m-a comin’ on down!!! Weirddave, you will pay for making me read that “comic strip”. Especially since I was convinced until nearly the end that it was a labored anti-Rinehart parody produced by his opponents.
Okay, guys…I swear, not everyone from Oklahoma is like this. I wish we could lock all of these loonies away somewhere so they’d stop making the rest of us look bad!
I’m so embarrassed that this guy is from my state.
