Our favorite Jack Chick tract has been turned into a movie! Finally, the EVIL that is “rollplaying” will be exposed for all the world to see.
Kinda missed their window for this type of thing by like 30 years, didn’t they?
Meh. I liked it better on the old days when Tom Hanks was stabbing homeless guys in an ally.
Everyone ended up at a nice vineyard for a wine tasting and some gaming at the end.
R-P-G! R-P-G! R-P-G!
vBulletin doesn’t allow me to shout without including some lowercase.
Please tell me Kevin Sorbo is in it!
Lots of luck with distributing and advertising–unless he means for it to be shown only in churches.
Boy, did he roll a low initiative.
Jack Chick didn’t make this movie-a bunch of gamers bought the rights for this tract via a Kickstarter campaign. It’s a low budget work of love like the Gamers movies, and will be sold online and at conventions.
No way BIG GAMING lets this see the light of day.
Wait…Cthulhu is real?
Would somebody please tell me what in heck Cthulu is?!
There is a thing called wikipedia.
My favorite shot is the rolling dice and blood splashing. Truly inspired cinematography!
Cthulu is all that is holy, the one, the great, he who must be worshiped.
Yay. Lots of money wasted on an ironic pseudo-joke.
Did you watch the trailer? Maybe we have different definitions of “lots”.
And while agree with you on the definition of “wasted”, I’m sure others would disagree on that.
The window for most of the stuff Chick rants about was 400 years ago.
So why did Chick agree to sell the rights? Presumably he knows who the buyers are, and it looks really bad for him to be accepting any amount of money from those he considers Satanists.
Evidently they didn’t pay anything for the rights. The only stipulation was that the movie had to include the message “Story based on “Dark Dungeons” by Jack T. Chick, LLC© 1984.”
I wonder if Chick actually knew who they were. The producers take care to say it will be faithful to the comic and isn’t a parody or satire.
Fully realizing of course that the source material is already considered to be over the top by most who have seen it. You couldn’t make a mockery of it and have it come out any funnier.
