There’s a new Jack-in-the-Box commercial out. For those who don’t know, Jack-in-the-Box is a fast food chain store. They push the market by having more creative selections than just burgers or chicken sandwiches.
There’s a new commercial, Jack is in his office and two attractive ladies are there, and they are arguing over which is the best new sandwich. One of them describes one sandwich, the other describes her sandwich. It’s like they want Jack to agree. He looks over his shoulder at the camera and says “This is the worst commercial I’ve ever been in.”
Which is saying something. I mean, he was in the midget cowboy commercial, and he was in the one with people running up and ripping their clothes off (and it wasn’t bikini models and body builders, it was “ordinary” folk), so the competition there is pretty stiff.
But then in three words the commercial went from worst to best. While the camera is still focused on Jack, one of the ladies says, “We could kiss,” and the camera focuses on them and they both give each other looks of “ewww”.
In the Spanish version, one of the women gestures to the other and says, “We could kiss each other.” The other……shrugs her shoulders and has like a “Maybe!” expression.Thanks to Jack in the Box CEO and Chairman of the Board Linda A. Lang, and Chief Marketing Officer Terri F. Graham.
So today was free sandwich day - buy a superlarge drink, get a free new sandwich. I went in - the sandwich was the turkey bacon cheddar. It wasn’t bad.
Amusingly, I reflected on the crowd. I do not know how many were there for the new sandwich as opposed to there regularly - I haven’t been to Jack-in-the-Box in a long time. However, I did a quick count of people and came up with roughly 30 men and 3 women.
I couldn’t help but think all the men were there waiting for the two office hotties to come out and complete the commercial for us.
