Jackass5 (The Movie) Critiques?

I just saw some of this horrible piece of excrement. Some of the skits were truly disgusting-like the guy launched on the bungee cords in the porta potty. Was this actually done with sh*t? I cannot imagine anyone actually doing this-please tell me this was done with something else. The other stupid stunt was the guy trying to pin the tail on the donkey-he got kicked twice-totally stupid and non-funny.
All in all stupid and pointless.
Did this “movie” make money? I guess PT Barnm was right (about underestimating the taste of the American pblic).

Ultimately it is about potty humor, practical jokes, and seeing guys get hit in the balls. I don’t know how one could make a meaningful critique of it.

It panders to a very specific demographic and is not going to appeal if you’re not part of that.

There was a Jackass 3?

Wow, I’m out of the loop…

I THINK I remember that one existing because I think it was in 3D.

Number four went right past my radar (not that I’d have seen it). Are these all theater releases?

Yes they were all theater releases. Though I have no recollection of 4.

And the whole Jackass schtick has always been this way. Seems like the OP is more out of the loop Meatros.

I think the OP mistakenly said 5 when he meant 3…AFAIK there have only been 3, and the third one is the one with the porta-a-john on bungee cords.

You know, I have never been into this type of movie and was sure I would hate them. A friend insisted we watch the original on DVD, and to my surprise I laughed all the way through it… enough that I went out & BOUGHT both 1 & 2! Haven’t seen 3 yet, but will likely add it to the collection eventually.

The toilet humor is gross, but there’s some pretty funny stuff that happens in the movies.

Jackass is one of my guilty pleasures. I love me some Party Boy.

My movie tastes tend towards the highbrow, but I have to admit a fondness for the Jackass boys and their antics.

And that is their genius. Somehow they still manage to appeal to those that would like to think themselves above that sort of thing. And I include myself in that group. There’s just something about them.

Ditto. Ultimate guilty pleasure. I’m a relatively educated and intelligent guy, I feel like I should be above Jackass, but man I love it so. I took a day off from work to see Jackass 3-D in the theater and didn’t regret it. I can’t defend it. I can only say it’s just funny to watch people put themselves in harms way and get injured and/or filthy.

Some of their stuff leaves me gasping for breath I am laughing so hard. Sadly, those moments are typically immediately followed by one of their public shitting or shoving stuff up their asses moments. 2.5 was the worst, in that respect.

I think of it as getting to hang out with a bunch of people who are more fun than your real friends for a couple hours, minus the risk that they’ll involve you in the carnage.

So, are you saying if I, an intelligent, educated and erudite Ellen, enjoyed Borat I might actually like these … how do you say it … Jackass movies?

Because I did.
