I’ve always loved Jackson’s albums from the 70’s and his 1993 I am Alive albums.

But geez his performances Live takes it to another level.

Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic Vol 1 is incredible. The live arrangements are simplier and more raw than his studio recordings.

You can listen on Amazon Digital music or Youtube, if you can stand commercials.

Music like this may never be made again. The record industry could afford high quality recording sessions. Pay the best session players.

Today it’s all digital sampling. You want a Sax and Clarinet? It’s produced by the software.

Youtube is the last resort. But it’s free.

I saw him live around 1980 in Saratoga, NY.

I saw him at Wolf Trap in Maryland back in the late 70’s. So awesome!!

I saw him live in the 90s, opening for Tom Petty. Petty was great. Browne not memorable. I I just remember he didnt play the Load Out & Stay–My absolute favorite(s) of his. Quel disappointment! Sorry

I think you mean Merriweather Post Pavillion. He played there a bunch in the 70s, the “Running on Empty” and “The Load-Out”/“Stay” tracks for the Running on Empty album were recorded live there, and it’s actually in Maryland. Wolf Trap is in Virginia.

I saw him on that tour as well. I remember liking him (and was already very familiar with his music), but I was there to see Tom Petty. Tom Petty did have a lot of good openers over the years. I know I saw ZZ Top, Steve Winwood, The Black Crowes and Jackson Browne open for him and probably a bunch of others (I went to a lot of Tom Petty concerts).

Yeah I miss PETTY. Died way too young. Only saw him live twice but love his music! RIP

Jackson uses so many special tunings. He has a rack of guitars on stage. Then he has to pick the right one for the song he wants to sing.

You are right. It is a symptom of my slow slide into older age. Thanks for the correction, I can now reminisce more accurately.
