I saw him live in the 90s, opening for Tom Petty. Petty was great. Browne not memorable. I I just remember he didnt play the Load Out & Stay–My absolute favorite(s) of his. Quel disappointment! Sorry
I think you mean Merriweather Post Pavillion. He played there a bunch in the 70s, the “Running on Empty” and “The Load-Out”/“Stay” tracks for the Running on Empty album were recorded live there, and it’s actually in Maryland. Wolf Trap is in Virginia.
I saw him on that tour as well. I remember liking him (and was already very familiar with his music), but I was there to see Tom Petty. Tom Petty did have a lot of good openers over the years. I know I saw ZZ Top, Steve Winwood, The Black Crowes and Jackson Browne open for him and probably a bunch of others (I went to a lot of Tom Petty concerts).
