Jackson jury ready to deliever verdict

Jackson jury reaches verdict according to CNN. Anyone want to bet on what they come back with?

I was just thinking of doing this at work. I’m not sure what the ten charges are, but I’m guessing he’ll be convicted of some of the lesser charges (providing alcohol to a minor, etc.) and found not guilty on the greater charges.

Here is the blurb of the charges from CNN:

The 46-year-old pop star is facing judgment on 10 counts… four counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 14; one count of attempted lewd conduct; four counts of administering alcohol to facilitate child molestation; and one count of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment or extortion.

I’m betting one lewd conduct and two alcohol.

What about the chimp? Won’t somebody please think of the chimp?!!!

My guess: Not Guilty on all counts. Macauley Culkin’s Oscar-winning performance on the witness stand will pay off.

Of course, everyone will forever assume he’s really guilty and point to this trial as a gross miscarriage of justice, a la O.J., Robert Blake, Fatty Arbuckle, etc. And life will go on, as it is, has been, and always shall be…

Well he finally showed up at court…

Well, he got off on all charges. I’m kinda suprised. I thought he be found guilty of distributing ‘Jesus Juice’ at least.

On a total side note, I watched the verdict on MSNBC. This really annoyed me, none of the tv news channels had anything else on. Breaking news, a plane crashed in Florida…now back to waiting for the MJ verdict…
On the bright side the whole mess is over(#1)

#1 Untill the next tedious celebrity trial comes along. I give it 4 months.

Wow. Color me surprised. I swore he was going to get the “alcohol to minors” charge, if nothing else.

I made a break for it before I had to hear that creepy voice of his thanking God, his fans, etc, etc. The upshot is that he’s untouchable for the future, whatever he gets up to. Tha prosecution should never have tried to make the abduction charge stick, it undermined their whole case.

This is the only verdict a proper jury could have reached. Criminal trials must uphold the standard of guilt beyond any reasonable doubt. The mother’s past and the words and actions of the boy/mother prior to accusing MJ and while they were supposedly captives were enough reasonable doubt for 30 aqquitals. While I have no valid opinion about whether MJ actually is a pedophile–active or not-- I completely agree that he was not proven guilty in that courtroom. MJ didn’t win, the prosecution lost.

So… When will he resume inviting little boys over for sleepovers? I have no doubt he’ll find parents whacked enough to allow it…

And now the world will have to endure another world tour and perhaps even a new album. Plus, Paul McCartney may never get ownership rights of the Beatles songs anthology.

That’s what I was thinking. I give it a less than a year before the tabloids catch him with another “special friend”.

Yeah right, a lot of stupid parents out there. Didn’t stop 'em after '93!

Sadly, I have to agree.
