Jacques Cousteau

Looks like TCM is having a little Jacques Cousteau marathon starting at 0300 on June the 11th.

The Nile (2 parts)
The Calypso’s Search for Atlantis (2 parts)
Time Bomb at 50 Fathoms
Mediterranean: Cradle or Coffin?
Calypso’s Search for Britannic
Jacques Cousteau: The First 75 Years
Diving for Roman Plunder
Blind Prophets of Easter Island
Clipperton: The Island that Time Forgot
Lost Relics of the Sea
Warm-Blooded Sea: Mammals of the Deep
Sharks
Whales
Sunken Treasure
Water Planet
Sound of Dolphins
Flight of the Penguins

I’m gone that weekend, but I’ve got the DVR set.

I’m finally watching the shows I recorded last week.

The Nile was shot in 1977, but it really has a '60s feel to it. I loves me some documentaries shot MOS and foleyed later. It just seems pre-'70s to me, though. (There are some synch scenes as well.)

I just read the memoir by his son–“My Father, the Captain . . .”. I remember watching those shows back when I was a kid. Pretty cool. It was the anniversary of his 100th birthday, June 11.
