James Doohan's ashes supposed to go to outer space, ended up in New Mexico

Captain, we need more power

Something that was supposed to stay in space ended up in New Mexico?
Maybe this explains Roswell.

They did go to outer space; they were never supposed to stay there.

That was an incredibly uninformative article. Oh, wait, that was from a year ago. Try this to see what Mr. Doohan is up to now.

Stranger

They were never intended to stay in space.

April, 2007.

The glitch is that they couldn’t immediately locate the capsule once it came down. It was in the approximate location, but it’s pretty rugged out there, and it took them three weeks to find it.

Also, the linked BBC story in the OP is from May 2007; why are we discussing this now? His ashes were “found” over a year ago.

They actually tried to relaunch his recovered ashes recently (like earlier this week), but the rocket once again failed. I presume the OP meant to link to the more recent event and got confused.

I believe the rocket actually blew up this time around, so I doubt his ashes will be recovered for a third trip.

So his ashes were blown to…what, smithereens or something?

So does whoever paid for it get their money back?

Love, Phil

Ye kinna have it! The engines are - I mean the money is just gone!
