The rule used to be that you can change your name once, EVER. You e-mail Tuba and she’ll do it for you.
I do not know if that’s still the rule.

My understanding of the current rule (more like guideline) is 1 free name change, unless there is some obvious fraudulent intent, and then, since they don’t want people to make a habit of it, any changes after that you better be able to give a damn good reason for. Email Tuba if you want the definitive explanation, however.
Ambivalid offered his apology, and Frank has accepted it - how is this any of our business now?
Looks to me like we’re discussing name changes now.
I would agree with your assessment. The thing is, despite that it often seems like a good idea to offer a “bright side” to someone in grief, it can often just make them feel worse, but usually if it does, not enough to really say anything. The problem is, it was poorly worded, and so it’s not surprising that it wasn’t well received.
Regardless, he apologized it was accepted, not really much to see here now.
I just want to make sure that the ‘help **OMG A Black Conservative **find a new name’ thread gets linked so that I won’t miss it.
I understand, and it was from my own personal experience of people meaning well but sticking their proverbial foot in their mouth while offering me their sympathy over an untimely death that I learned to look on their particular bright side, meaning they were there for me even if they weren’t the most well-spoken or couth individuals.
OMG A White Conservative gets my vote.
How about I’m Not Touching You, I’m Not Touching You?
I agree it’s a douchy thing to say. I get that it was well intended but, fucking hell, educate yourself. Unless the person you are talking to is a devout Christian, “They’re in a better place now” is not a comforting condolence.
It’s The 'Dope - it’s what we do.

Telling other posters to fuck off is a violation of the Pit language rules. Please avoid this in the future.
No warning issued.

I’m not sure it’s worth reviving an old pit thread, and Frank has graciously accepted your apology, but it does seem you have a little trouble gauging social interactions.
I wonder if No Srsly Y’all I’m a Black Conservative Did I Just Blow Your MINDS??? is taken.

This poster echoed the exact same sentiments as I did yet not a single person seemed to take issue with her post. Why is this?
Because there is a group of people who strongly dislike you, and will find any reason they can to “call you out”, probably until you decide to leave the board. I like you, both as a person, and as a poster, and I wish this wasn’t so, but it is. They will hound you until you leave, or until they’re banned, or until they get tired of it, I suppose. But I wouldn’t hope for the latter.
Too damn long.
He can always continue in the same vein as that other idiot and go with TLDRIDKwhateverotherstupidshithisnameconsistedof.
Amby—can I call you Amby? You might just want to let this one drop.
However sincere, you phrased your condolence awkwardly, and the more you poke at it (especially after Frank gave you the we’re-cool-bro), the more you expose yourself to retaliatory sniping.
Just an observation from your 67,766,295th greatest fan.

Oh yeah, it’s me who needs to drop this. That’s funny. And you can call me Amby if I can call you Vinnie. Works for me.
