Trump called Vice President Pence a “Pussy!” during a heated phone call with him from the Oval Office, as overheard by staffers.
OMG! That guy talks so slowly it’s painful to pay attention to him.
I fail to see what the logic of that position is.
If he thinks that they should be sharing back something in return, maybe, but he seems simply to be saying that he’d rather waste government time and energy, forcing the DOJ to conduct all of the same interviews because…screw them guys who are on our side?
In general, the Jan 6 Committee is probably the most competent House Committee that I’ve ever seen operate, during my lifetime. But, to be clear, that’s a crazy low bar. For as much as I like the work that they’re doing, I still wish that we had someone better than this.
He must have watched that Dave Chapelle sketch.
Luttig is saying that Trump and his allies and supporters are a clear and present danger, not because of what happened on January 6, but because they’ve pledged that in 2024, if Trump or his anointed successor, were to lose the election, that they would attempt to overturn the '24 election-- but succeed in '24. They’re executing that blueprint for '24 in open and plain view of the American public. And they’re being candid and proud about it.
The chairman is suggesting that the January 6 Committee might suggest improvements to the Electoral Count Act.

I, JohnT, have decided that I should be on the pardon list, if that is still in the works.
Mods? Are you listening?
I would like to be on the pardon list in advance for any and all crimes I may commit in the future.
No problem. I hereby grant all of you an official pardon.
Need anything else, just let me know.
Lucky bastard.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Makes you wonder about the pipe bombs planted outside the RNC and DNC headquarters.
As the January 6 hearings focus attention on the Capitol riot, one huge mystery remains. (msn.com)
Even though the bombs didn’t detonate, they also diverted attention and resources away from the Capitol Riot, which quickly spiraled out of control. Michael Bolton, the recently retired Capitol Police Inspector General, testified in Congress that the bombs drew three teams to investigate and made it so only one squad remained at the Captiol, according to HuffPost.
(From the link in the post, not the poster’s words…)
(To All: Apologies for the “Fudgepackers” at the end, I linked because I like the “Ha! Your name is Michael Bolton scenario.”
Rookie mistake! you’re supposed to get a bribe first!
There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
Wait for all these posters and their friends and relatives to get spammed with hundreds of fundraising emails, raising money for my various “SAVE THE SDMB!!!” PACs.
Yes, and in several states they are trying to elect a secretary of state who will bypass the vote and give the results to trump or whoever.
He hasn’t moved a centimeter.
Why haven’t tthey been doing their own interviews? Why does the Committee have to do their job for them?
So, did anyone else watching notice the wall behind Eric Herschmann, from what I assume was a video interview? WTF was up with that?
There was a weird poster that looked a little bit like reflections in a body of water and a little bit like a panda on the right.
On the left their was a black baseball bat with the word “JUSTICE” printed on it……my brother was like Wow, that kind of has a racist vibe …above a couple of silver objects.
Our best guess on the silver objects was that they were some sort of art object designed to represent trophy scalps. But it was one of the weirdest Zoom backgrounds I’ve ever seen. Anyone else notice?
I do think that it’s metal hair. The middle one looks like George Washington from behind. The one on the right looks like a Beatle.
It is, indeed, strange decor but…decor, nevertheless.
I’m wondering if the reason the committee is reluctant to release the interviews is because they are under a very time- sensitive deadline, if they don’t get a report out by the end of the year, it’s not being released at all.
I heard some cable news speculation that if the interviews are converted to evidence in a DOJ proceeding, then there might be issues with publicly releasing them before the cases go to trial. In which case the committee is absolutely right to not release them.
The DOJ should’ve done their own damn interviews, anyway. The House is not conducting a criminal investigation and an interview by a legislator is not a replacement for an interview by a skilled law enforcement investigator.
