a powerful example of what federal prosecutors can use when they are in court.
Someone should remind that bloviating hack that there are legal ways of contesting election results. This is the first time someone has used an illegal way.
And WTF is he talking about Hillary Clinton “rejecting” the results? FFS, she conceded on election night.
To be fair, in my ire I omitted that Christie was talking mostly about “many Democrats”, mostly out of power and not the candidates themselves, certainly not after all reasonable legal avenues had been exhausted. So I’m sure he can point to a few backbenchers, activists and Internet pundits to support his position.
What his whataboutism is intended to obscure is the fact that in this case, the election denial came right from the top and ignored those folks who pointed out to the man in charge that he had simply lost.
… and was illegal.
“The Democrats didn’t accept the election results” is a fairly common refrain from Trump supporters, and WTF is an apppropriate response. When my mother parroted that line at me I asked her WTF she was talking about and brought up Hillary’s concession the day after the election. Democrats complained that the winner of the popular vote didn’t win the election, but they abided by it.
In my pedantic mode, I would say “was accompanied by and prompted illegal acts”.
Election denial all by itself is not illegal; the actions taken as a result of that denial were blatantly seditious.
That’s fair. I don’t mind pedantic.
Which raises the subject of “legitimate winner” and of “a mandate”–somehow (I blame Bush Jr., and for sure Trump) when you don’t win by a landslide, or close to a landslide, you accept the perception that you don’t have a mandate, though you’re going to serve all of the voters, not just the narrow majority that voted for you. But Trump (and Bush before him) pretended that their squeaky wins, with a minority of voters, gave them an overwhelming mandate to pursue a heavily partisan agenda.
Raff says the number of dead voters was 4. He didn’t say who they voted for.
Ah. I forgot that people are following online.
Make America Great Again for what it always really meant: terrorized African Americans.
It’s like the “P” word. You can say somebody IS one, but you can’t say somebody GOT some.
Ron Johnson is about to go through some things.
Bennie Thompson consistently mispronounced Raffensperger’s name. That should be mildly embarassing.
Judy Woodruff of PBS just announced the schedule for this Thursday’s hearing: She says it starts at 3:00pm ET (not 1:00 like previously published). Can anyone else confirm that?
I wonder if the final two witnesses are going into the witness protection program. They should IMHO.
i was thinking the same thing. even if they won civil judgements against rudy et al, they wouldn’t have the funds they need to feel safe anywhere. they would never see a penny of the judgements.
That particular ship may have already sailed.
What happened to those poll workers really shows Trump as the soulless, unethical, amoral, dishonorable sociopathic liar that he is.
And it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that he picked on a Black woman.
