Jan Brewer: liar and hypocrite

By now, most people have prolly heard about the tarmac conversation between President Obama and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. I’d wager that about the same number have by now seen the image of Gov. Brewer pointing her finger at Pres. Obama.

While we don’t know what was actually being discussed, Gov. Brewer has expressed displeasure with the fact that the President walked away from her, apparently before she was done talking. She had this to say:

Let’s look at part of that again: “Well, I would never have walked away from anybody having a conversation.”

Hypocrite. That’s exactly what Gov. Brewer did in 2010 when faced with questions about her comments that there were beheadings in the desert tied to illegal immigrants: she simply walked away from the people asking those questions, as you can see in that video.

Fuck you, Governor Brewer. You’re a loathsome shitstain. I don’t even know how to express my disgust that you would try and portray yourself as a victim here:

On a side note, what the fuck is wrong with Arizona that it elects (and keeps re-electing) people like Jan Brewer and Joe Arpaio?

She’s so arrogant and dumb, to boot. I can’t imagine pointing my finger like that at the President! I wish he could fire her- that would be the perfect ending.

Well, it is hell on earth…

But it’s a dry heat.

As usual, the big cities are more progressive and that is the only reason that it makes it bearable to live here, and just recently the one that pushed the recent racist laws was trounced by the Republicans themselves, so there is hope.

Hey, I live in Nevada; it’s pretty much the same, terrain- & temperature-wise as Arizona. For some reason tho, it just makes our politicos stupid, not mean.

Not enough democrats from up north have retired there yet, and not enough northern yuppies have bought their McMansions down there yet.

Give it time, young grasshopper.

SWAAAAP!

Sorry, but I have lived a lifetime with dropmom describing a comparison of the different climates of St Paul and Chicago as a “dry heat” or a “dry cold.”

One does not swat his mom.

I’m sorry, what’s the big deal here? Going by the title and what it inferred, I came into the thread ready to believe that she gave him the one-finger salute. Not that she actually just pointed at him.

I mean, he’s the President - not the King.

A blowtorch is a dry heat too.

I don’t know, but I’m glad for the election law that limits the governor to eight consecutive years in office. This includes the part of Janet Napolitano’s term that she served out before her 2010 election. So she can’t run in 2014.

This is the same Brewer who tried to *impeach *the chairman of the redistricting commission for not adequately favoring the Republicans, right?

Dumbfuck.

She’s a rabidly right-wing Republican who is happy to sign racist laws like Senate Bill 1070, the so-called “papers please” law. This law would have given local law enforcement the obligation to determine the immigration status of every person they stop, provided there is reason to question that status. In practice, this means that every person who looks Hispanic could legally be hassled by the cops. The person can be seventh-generation native-born American, the mayor of his town, and the president of the Rotary Club, but unless they can prove it to the satisfaction of the cop, they’re screwed. The law has been blocked by the federal courts as unconstitutional.

So this little temper tantrum is just the latest reason to pit a truly loathsome, worthless human being.

It’s not really that she pointed at him. It’s that she then went to the media - I think she went of Greta Van Susteren at one point - and complained that Obama had snubbed her by walking away after a very heated exchange, saying that he was thin skinned about her book. She then complained some more about Obama, and mentioned her book (now on amazon) because Obama was unhappy with the way he was portrayed in her book (check your local walmart).

Basically she possibly misrepresented her encounter with Obama as a way to earn points (Obama bad) and sell her book (available at better book stores. Buy Local).

Plus, she said something to Obama like “I have the greatest respect for the office of President”… leaving the hearer to conclude ‘but I don’t have respect you’. What an ass.

Harborwolf makes a good point about Jan Brewer’s contriving this entire incident in order to increase the sale of “Scorpions For Breakfast”.
According to this story, her Amazon book sales ranking went from a paltry #285,568 all the way up to #21 in a mere 24 hours.

She is a ratbag, if you will.

It’s not the hate, it’s the stupidity.

Kudos, sir.

The photo doesn’t tell the whole story, because you can’t smell the withering gin fumes on her breath, nor hear her slurred threat “you wanna go? Let’s go… tell your goons to give us 10 minutes.”

You just know that the whole finger-pointing bit was staged so that cameras could capture that aspect of her moment of “standing up to” the big, bad, boogieman Obama.

Called Hanlon’s Razor…
