Jan Brewer: liar and hypocrite

Of course she felt threatened. Did you not see the big black man towering over her? Any self-respecting Arozonian would be threatened by that. At least it wasn’t a Messican trying to decapitated her like all the other brown people in her state.

I think her statement saying that she felt threatened was the most loathsome part. Threatened? What did she think he was going to do to her? Why, exactly, did she feel threatened by him? I could make a few guesses.

Just wait a few months, and it will be available on the $1.99 table at better book stores. Buy Cheap. :stuck_out_tongue:

Frank Caprio Jr. was a gubernatorial candidate here in RI who made the comment that Obama could ‘shove it’ because he didn’t endorse Caprio. Caprio had a huge lead in the polls disintegrate overnight, and now we’ve got the retarded son of a former governor in office. RI is a heavily Democratic state, but one that doesn’t show strong support for Obama, but a lot of people simply didn’t like a governor who would treat a POTUS like this. Now Row Dilanders are fairly dumb people, but they’re not Arizona Republican brain damaged type dumb. They realize if this is the way a potential governor treats the president, he’s not likely to maintain that much respect for his own constituents.

I just got done having to listen to Glenn Beck spin the episode EXACTLY this way! He was all upset at the big black man screaming at this “defenseless woman” standing alone (she wasn’t, two other elected officals were there to greet him as well) at the bottom of the stairs of the “giant flying penis” (Glenn’s words) that the President had just stepped out of.

It was so comical, and just a reminder of why Glenn got to crazy even for Fox news.

Our tax dollars are paying for giant flying penises?

Cool.

And now the second mayor present at this 4 person conversation is also saying Brewer’s depiction of the event is not accurate.

“He wasn’t tense at all,” Stanton said on Friday. “The guy’s a pro.”

Though Stanton declined to discuss exactly what the governor and president said to each other, he said Obama’s classic coolness was evident.

“He doesn’t get animated, but he looks you in the eye and tells you what he thinks,” Stanton said. “And I think that’s honestly what he did is he looked the governor in the eye and spoke and told her what he was really feeling.”

I’m not sure I can even imagine what a “tense” Obama would look like.

The same as happy Obama, a drunk Obama, or an angry Obama. The man has a tight poker face and pretty damned good control (from what I have seen in the media).

This.

You could use him to keep ice cold.

“Oh, come on, Mr. President, pull my finger. This is really good!”

I’m just relieved that the laws on being disrespectful to the president during war time have slackened. If Brewer would have pulled that shit 5 years ago, she’d probably be eating a cockmeat sandwich at Gitmo right about now.

Was she “having a conversation” with those people?

Yes, she was. All clear now?

I don’t think she was. All clear now?

Brewer characterized Obama’s walking away from her without responding as disrespectful to her.

In the linked video, she ignored the questions being asked of her and chose to walk away without responding. Would you characterize that as respectful, or disrespectful to the questioners?

Or is the type of respect she demands only afforded to fellow governors and higher?

Oh my gosh, yes … I am powerless to resist in the face of your ability to keep repeating “Nuh-uh!”

I think what Kerr is getting at is that being surrounded by members of the press with video cameras peppering questions at you is fundamentally different from “having a conversation” and the rules are not the same. Saying something like “No further questions! Thank you!” can be fine to a group of reporters, but it would be a bit absurd if that’s how you had a conversation with a co-worker.

“Hey, what’s your opinion of corporate’s new TRS report requirements?”
“No further questions! Thank you!”

That said, I’m not defending Jan, I just don’t think the parallel between her walking away from a press ambush and Obama allegedly walking away from her is a very good one. It’s a bit of a stretch to argue the two are the same, and it is kinda pointless as well. There is so much she can already be taken to task for over this that you don’t really need to make such a stretch of a comparison anyway.

You’re dumb.
