a) he didn’t bring it up out of the blue; Brewer was like a summons server. Instead of just meeting him at the airport like a normal person, she ambushed him with a letter requesting a personal meeting. That was when he said he wasn’t happy about her account of their previous meeting.
b) it wasn’t a perceived slight in her book, it was a total trashing of him. And from most accounts, including her own before she wrote the book, it was totally false.
And do you base this on your intimate personal knowledge of him, or do you just rely on Jan Brewer’s opinion?
Brewer says he walked away mid-sentence. The other three people there say he didn’t.

Which part? The part about egosurfing - no, it’s not a joke. It’s an exaggeration. Based on the Brewer incident it is very clear that Obama is extremely sensitive to how others describe him, and keeps track of it.
The part about the Obama’s small-minded pettiness of bringing up Brewer’s book in response to her invitation - dead serious.
