Jar of butter?

I got the joke, even though I didn’t know the specifics of the video’s content, but still, I’m curious now.

So, I assume this is some kind of shocking video sent as a prank, ala “meatspin”. But, what is it? Not terribly interested in actually seeing it, just wondering what it is. Is my google-fu weakening?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think it references a specific shock video - just riffs on the sort of names that tend to get given to them. (eg; “Lemon party,” etc)

I was on board until panels 7 and 8. Someone’s gonna have to explain it to me. (And I’ve never seen this comic before.)

Took me a couple tries but apparently the blue character Skull, after having seen the video, ran into the supply closet and shut the door. His 2 buddies tries to console him, but realize Skull left the video running on his computer where the guy in panel #8 sees it.

If you’re like me, you were confused in panel 6. I thought the 2 guys were outside Skull’s room. I didn’t realize he ran into the supply closet. Those greenish walls in all the panels except #6 and #7 are apparently cubicle walls and not, as I thought, doors

Yikes. That’s awful. Thanks for explaining it.

I don’t really want an answer to this because I’ve moved on, but why would he yell, “Did you run in here and leave the video playing” instead of “Did you run in there and leave the video playing”?

I don’t mind if something is over my head, but that’s just plain ol’ bad cartooning.

I just wanted to note that the link is a guest strip. Scott Kurtz may be a bit of a prick at times, but he’s not nearly that bad a cartoonist.

It’s “here” because Skull left his office and fled to the supply closet, which they are standing outside, trying to calm him down. His office is down the hall somewhere. Since they’re immediately outside the closet, it’s being called “here” due to proximity compared to the office. (Not necessarily the most sensible word choice for saying that in person, but in the strip, I think the guest artist is trying to distinguish further between the various locations.)

Also, just FYI: Skull is a troll (the mythical monster, not the message board style), with a very child-like/innocent view of things, hence the guest artist’s concern about “showing” him a viral video. Since he’s semi-mythical, only certain characters in the strip can see him. (Notable one who can’t is Max, a slimy businessman/competitor of the main characters.)

And for those who don’t know, the guy in panel 8 is their boss.
