Jared Kushner: Close to the Russia, Pushed for Firing Comey

Well, this would be bad if true: [

That is too good to be true.

Surely not. You must be an idiot to fail SATs.

Q: Is Ivanka next…?

“She Got it at Jared’s…”

Makes me think that Flynn is doing his best canary impression.

Anyone remember this story? Seems relevant.

It’s such a shame SNL is on hiatus for the summer.

This administration is beginning to look like a Don Knotts movie. Pence gets hacked on his AOL account. Maybe “fuckthegays” wasn’t a great password.

Now Jared Kushner wanted a secret link with the Kremlin to be accessed from Russian consulates. Seriously. This raises some questions:
1- How long will he keep his security clearance?
2- Why would the Russians squeal about this? They have a stooge in the White House, why jeopardize it?
3- What was Kushner going to use this line for?
4- Does this request break any laws?

Seems like a very amateurish move by a guy way in over his head.

They have also been bragging about Helm. Perhaps they want to destabilize the US Presidency. This is Manchurian Candidate stuff.

…Might be on us to step up & entertain them then.
(…they do read, right? I mean stuff from people who AREN’T related to them or hang out at their version of the Westboro Baptist Church)

The Russians didn’t squeal about this; we were monitoring the Russian Ambassador’s communications with Moscow and someone in the CIA or NSA leaked this to the media back in December.

You are very much correct and I was quite incorrect. Thank you.

I think there’s about to be an armageddon between the Trump administration’s inner circle and the ‘administrative state’. And to the victor goes the spoils…and our fate as a democracy.

In other words, in order to slip the US surveillance net, the Trump transition team wanted to use the Russian Embassy in DC to communicate secretly with the Kremlin. And Kislyak, being a good handler, didn’t want to burn his assets.

The implications are sickening.

This is treasonous behavior.

And they thought it was a big enough deal to expose that they’re reading the ambassador’s calls back to Russia and possibly lose that source.

Is it possible that there is a third country spying on the Russians (say, Uruguay) and was alarmed enough to leak it to Wapo?

If the Five Eyes aren’t deeply involved in this there’s no point in having them.

The thing is, Kislyak had to know that what he was saying would be recorded by US intelligence.

So did he say it in order to signal to Trump that Russia has the power to “say stuff” that will take down Trump’s son-in-law----and also Trump himself? Was this a message to Trump that he’d better do as he’s told?

Could you unbox this? I have no idea how this could be a message to Trump. Generally, you don’t “warn” people you can blackmail them by spilling your biggest beans.

I’m not sure he would assume that the US broke their encryption.

At this point, it would be considerably more efficient for Moscow to have an investigation to determine if anyone in the Trump administration has any ties to the United States.
