Why would Jason Kidd even think about joining the Knicks? The Mavericks are going to pay him more and Dallas will be a contending team next year. Gortat will be an upgrade at center. The Knicks aren’t going to be a contender next year and Kidd will be even older if the Knicks do try to sign Lebron the following year. While the Lakers are by far the best team in the Western Conference, if they stumble, the Mavs are as likely as any other team to be able to win the conference with Kidd, Nowitzki, and Gortat. The Rockets are hurting, the Spurs are aging, and the Suns are rebuilding. This leaves the Mavs, Blazers, and Lakers as the teams to beat in the West.
Ahem… Nuggets.
The Spurs are a lot better with Richard Jefferson. They are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West if healthy, and the Nuggets are the other team.
Dallas is definitely Kidd’s best option if he wants to play in the postseason though.
Well, Kidd did sign with the Mavs. Smart move.
Ugh, how could I forget about the Nuggets.
Still, I’m liking this Mavs team. They’ll be in the mix all year. The Lakers may stumble, right?
Best case scenario for the Mavs is Kobe and Duncan get hurt. The Mavs sure aren’t getting any younger themselves though.
Denver is still a much better team though and Carmelo is getting better every year so far.
