Jason Priestley is *how* short?

So that says that the average adult American heights are 5’ 9.2" for men and 5’ 3.6" for women and that they consider that their statistics have about a 0.1" standard error (as of 2016).

He doesn’t look short, Kevin Nealon is 6’4”.

Ah, that’s what a good source looks like. Thanks.

And yet, those numbers are through 2016. “Mean weight, waist circumference, and BMI in adults have increased over the past 18 years.” I bet those numbers will have increased more since then.

“Conversely, mean height did not change in many demographic subgroups and, in some groups, was lower in 2015–2016 than in 1999–2000.” Table 4 doesn’t back that up. Virtually every subgroup is slightly shorter.

Asians and Hispanics were not both broken out of the survey until 2011-2012, so no long term comments can be made. However, both males and females in those groups average two to three inches shorter than non-Hispanic whites and blacks. Overall, men have dropped 0.5" since 2003-2004. Since Asians and Hispanics are the fastest growing groups, I assume their increased numbers are responsible. This will probably continue
