Jayme Closs awarded "hometown hero" award

In case you don’t know the background: her parents were killed and she was kidnapped. She escaped.

This was her first public apperance since.

I am all for celebrating her, but she did NOT look comfortable at all to me.

Brian

Let’s see…She’s a 13 year old girl who saw her parents murderer by a total stranger, managed to escape, and is now facing a room full of total strangers.

No reason to be uncomfortable there.

I hadn’t heard her kidnapper pled guilty and thank goodness, the prosecution doesn’t have to probe details of what may have happened beyond the murders. All you can do is hope for her to be at peace. It is her first public appearance so it’s not like anyone would know what she is normally like anyway. Comments like that are better kept to ourselves.

What a shit-ass bunch of selfish fucking cocksuckers those legislators are! That was about them getting their names in the news, nothing more. They used her like her kidnapper used her.

I have to agree.

Sad.

Maybe we should think ourselves lucky they didn’t round up 9 other crime victims and turn it into an interactive phone-in competition hosted by Simon fucking Cowell.

Not to mention that on the same day Assembly Speaker Robin Vos was pushing legislation to limit abortion rights in WI. I’d like to ask him if he would support a law forcing a girl like Jayme Closs, had she been impregnated by her captor, to carry the baby to term.

But the “baby” didn’t do anything wrong. There is nothing with forcing about a 13-year old pregnant by rape to carry her rapist’s child to term and be tied to her rapist for life.

Yeah, right.

Maybe she had her cats declawed, so you could ask the Speaker about that.

Regards,
Shodan

Unfortunately, I’m a bit suspicious that all the family members surrounding her pushed her into it as well. It isn’t so politically correct to call the family members such names, but I would not be surprised if someone in the family called their legislator up and ‘suggested’ the award for her…what legislator would be brave enough to turn down such a request?

Did you see this picture of all the family and their smiling faces…she’s the only one who doesn’t want to be there.

can’t call the family " shit-ass bunch of selfish fucking cocksuckers"…that would be bad.

Giving out an award like this to crime victims isn’t unusual.

I hope the family consulted with the girls therapist and followed professional advice.

Thankfully the kidnapper/murderer plead guilty and that saved the family a long and painful trial.

Based on one thing. Not a pattern of 2, 3, 4, or 5 things. One.

Well, if this was poor judgment hopefully they’re naive and will learn. Lord knows there are vultures out there as this got so much national coverage. I can think of worse places to be.
